Identify the following: A. Independent Variable - is a variable that is being manipulated in an experiment. B. Dependent Variable - is what you measure in the experiment and what is affected during the experiment. C. Respondents – who will participate in the study. D. Locale – where the study takes place. Research Title Guidelines Effective titles in academic research papers can have several characteristics: 1.Indicate accurately the subject and scope of the study 2.Rarely use abbreviations or acronyms unless they are commonly known 3.Use words that create a positive impression and stimulate reader interest 4.Use current nomenclature from the field of study 5.Identify key variables, both dependent and independent 6.Reveal how the paper will be organized 7.Suggest a relationship between variables which supports the major hypothesis 8.Is limited to 5 to 15 substantive words 9. Does not include redundant phrasing, such as, "A Study of," "An Analysis of" or similar constructions 10. Takes the form of a question or declarative statement 11.If you use a quote as part of the title, the source of the quote is cited [usually using an asterisk and footnote] 12. Use correct grammar and capitalization with all first words and last words capitalized, including the first word of a subtitle. All nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs that appear between the first and last words of the title are also capitalized 13. Rarely uses an exclamation mark at the end of the title.

Significance of the Study
SOS simply states the benefits that will be taken from the study. Normally they include the following: A. Institution – includes the school administration and other offices. B. Teachers – since researches are in the academe, teachers should also be considered. C. Future Researchers – for other researchers’ replication and modification. Sampling The action or process of taking samples of something for analysis. Slovin’s Formula Is used to calculate the sample size (n) given the population size (N) and a margin of error (e). -It is computed as n = N / (1+Ne2). Frequency Table In getting the average mean / weighted mean, just multiply the number of responses per rating component then add all the summarized responses then divide it by the total number of respondents. Dichotomous In getting the yes or no average / weighted mean, one plus the total number of yes responses divided by the total number of respondents. Pie Chart In getting the percentage in pie, just identify the total number of responses for a certain criterion then divide it by the total number of respondents and finally multiply it by one hundred.
