• Hello Everyone, today we will be discussing the topic of incorporating Leadership skills in a

professional setting. With technology being so heavily involved in how we communicate, it’s

important to analyze how to effectively lead a team in various settings.

• When you work in a group setting, it is vital to communicate a common objective for everyone

to achieve the same goal to ensure success.

Display Video: Let’s look at 5 characteristics of a Good Leader.

Ask: After watching that video, which characteristics is the most important? Why?

Say:
• Strong communication is fundamental when being an effective leader. There must a succinct

and clear delivery of the information being given. It is the same whether its face-to-face, on the

phone, virtually and more.

• Employees should also understand that they can communicate with the leader without

interruption and judgement, so that’s when active listening from the Leader needs to come into

play

• Positive atmosphere can also add to a more collaborative environment with the team. When

employees are happier, they tend to be more productive and take more initiative in their role.

• Motivation is another skill that will help leaders keep their team engaged. Money is not the only

motivator that keeps people going. There has be inspiration, recognition, team activities, and

accountability involved.

• Passion and commitment can also be an effective skill Leader exhibit to their team. When

employees see leaders working with enjoyment and excitement to do their work, it can transfer

to others. It’s important for everyone to have an understand of why they do what they do.

• Delegating tasks can be another way to motivate your team. When they can learn and take on

more responsibility, they tend to feel more valued and a part of the team.
