RULES
1 - ENTRY CONDITIONS
The 14th Foto Club Buenos Aires International Virtual Image Exhibition 2015 is open to all
photographers around the world, including amateurs and professionals. However, an entry may be
rejected when the organizers or its representatives, in its reasonable understanding, believe the entry
does not conform to the exhibition rules and conditions.
The contest is open for all pictures, digitally modified or not. Photographers that do not work with
computers can scan their works in commercial laboratories to get their images on CD or DVD.
There are no restrictions as to subject matter except as outlined in the rules and difinitions of specific
sections, or specified by law in the country where the exhibition is held.
Images may be altered, either digitally or otherwise, by the maker and artwork or computer graphics
created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic content predominates.
Each image must have a unique title. Once an image has been accepted in a PSA Recognized exhibition,
that same image, or a like “in camera” or a “reproduction” duplicate of that image: i) may not be re-
entered in any section of the same Division Star Ratings clas in that exhibition regardless of media,
format o title; ii) may not be re-titled for entry in any other PSA Recognized exhibition. Words such as
“Untitled” and “No title” are not acceptable as part or all of an image´s title, nor are camera captures
filenames or titles consisting of only numbers
The contestant must be the owner of all the rights of the submitted works. Every part of the picture
must be photographed by the author.

The exhibition assumes no liability of any misuse of copyright. Images may be altered, either
electronically or otherwise, by the maker. Artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be
incorporated if the photographic content predominates subject to divisional restrictions. All final work
must be on photographic film, or on electronic file, or on photographic or electronic print material,
mounting excepted.
The author agrees that his work may be published on a printed catalogue, on CD or DVD catalogue and
on the web page, free of charge. The works will not be used in a commercial context.
Submission of entries implies the acceptance of all conditions of this regulation. There is no possibility
of legal action to
Participation in this competition implies full acceptance of the conditions of this regulation, having thus
the impossibility of legal action against both the organizer and sponsors of the contest.

8 - ENTRY FEE
The entry fee is for each author:
Those authors who participate in all sections (6 sections) will receive a bonus of one free section;
therefore the cost for participating in five sections is the same as for participating in six.
Group entries: there will be a discount of 10 percent on the total amount to groups or clubs for over 10
authors
For group shipments of more than 10 authors a 10 percent discount will be offered on full payment.
The payment will be made by cash or Paypal (preferred) to the email estevezoscar@hotmail.com
or also entering through the web site, http://fotoclubba.org.ar/virtualimage2015, to the link that
redirects to Paypal.
Entries with no paid fee will not be judged and their catalogues will not be sent.

9 - JUDGING DISPLAY
An entrant´s four images will be distributed throughout four rounds judging for that section and judge
on a calibrated led tv in 1920 x 1080 pixels, in turn connected to a local network (LAN – Local Area
Network) to the assitant judge´s pc.
10 - DISPLAY RESOLUTION
The led Tv has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The judging days will take place on May 14, 15 and 16th of 2015. A total scoring will be made up from
the total amount of points accumulated in the six sections. This consist of all the accepted works, a
maximum 24 submitted works for the 6 (six) sections (4 per section), by the same author.

13 – DEFINITIONS
COLOR
Any subject matter in any presentation
MONOCHROME:
FIAP Definition
A black and white image fitting from the very dark grey (black) to the very clear grey (white) is a
monochrome work with the various shades of grey.
A black and white work toned entirely in a single colour will remain a monochrome work able to stand
in the black and white category; such a work can be reproduced in black and white in the catalogue of
a salon under FIAP Patronage.
On the other hand a black and white work modified by a partial toning or by the addition of one colour
becomes a colour work (polychrome) to stand in the colour category: such a work requires colour
reproduction in the catalogue of a salon under FIAP Patronage
PSA Definition
An image is considered to be Monochrome only if it gives the impression of having no color (i.e.
contains only shades of gray which can include pure black and pure white) OR it gives the impression of
being a grayscale image that has been toned in one color across the entire image. (For example by
Sepia, red, gold, etc.)A grayscale or multi-colored image modified or giving the impression of having

been modified by partial toning, multi toning or by the inclusion of spot coloring does not meet the
definition of monochrome and shall be classified as a Color Work.
CREATIVE
Creative is defined as “already reality”. Creative experimental, imaginative and / or a departure from
realistic
NATURE
PSA and FIAP Definition
Nature photography is restricted to the use of the photographic process to depict all branches of
natural history, except anthropology and archaeology, in such a fashion that a well-informed person will
be able to identify the subject material and certify its honest presentation.
• The story telling value of a photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality while
maintaining high technical quality.
• Human elements shall not be present, except where those human elements are integral parts of the
nature story such as nature subjects, like barn owls or storks, adapted to an environment modified by
humans, or where those human elements are in situations depicting natural forces, like hurricanes or
tidal waves.
• Scientific bands, scientific tags or radio collars on wild animals are permissible.
• Photographs of human created hybrid plants, cultivated plants, feral animals, domestic animals, or
mounted specimens are ineligible, as is any form of manipulation that alters the truth of the
photographic statement.
• No techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements except by
cropping are permitted.
• Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the nature story or
the pictorial content, or without altering the content of the original scene, are permitted including
HDR, focus stacking and dodging / burning.
• Techniques that remove elements added by the camera, such as dust spots, digital noise, and film
scratches, are allowed.
• Stitched images are not permitted.
• All allowed adjustments must appear natural.
• Color images can be converted to greyscale monochrome.
• Infrared images, either direct-captures or derivations, are not allowed.
Images entered in Nature sections meeting the Nature Photography Definition above can have
landscapes, geologic formations, weather phenomena, and extant organisms as the primary subject
matter. This includes images taken with the subjects in controlled conditions, such as zoos, game farms,
botanical gardens, aquariums and any enclosure where the subjects are totally dependent on man for
food.
PHOTOJOURNALISM
Photojournalism entries shall consist of images with informative content and emotional impact,
including human interest, documentary, sports, and spot news. The story telling value of the image
shall receive priority over pictorial quality. In the interest of credibility, PJ images must not misrepresent
the truth. No situations shall be set up for the purpose of photography, and no alteration of the subject
matter is allowed, including any techniques that add, combine, relocate, replace or remove any
elements of the original image. No unnatural sharpening or special effect filters can be applied. Only
cropping, resizing, lightening or darkening, and restoration of original color are permitted. Color images
can be converted to monochrome. Any sharpening must appear natural.”
PHOTO TRAVEL
PSA Definition
A Photo Travel image must express the feeling of a time and place, and portray a land, its distinctive
features or culture in its natural state. There are no geographical limitations. Close-up pictures of
people or objects must include distinguishable environment. Techniques that add to, relocate, replace
or remove any element of the original image, except by cropping, are not permitted. All adjustments
must appear natural. Conversion to full monochrome is acceptable. Derivations, including infrared, are
unacceptable.
