I have provided a compilation of my unique experiences and skill set to pursue a position on this staff.
My experiences have allowed me to grow in my leadership skills, molded my values, and allowed me to
grow in my resiliency when facing challenges. I believe the combination of my work and animal
experiences as well as my personal qualities make the me the ideal candidate for this position.

EXPERIENCE
JUNE 2016 – ONGOING
ALL CREATURES VETERINARY HOSPITAL
In this part-time volunteer position, I assumed the role of a student veterinary technician where
the values, morals, and discipline of the veterinary profession were instilled in me.
I developed the following skills:
 Logged approximately 1,500 hours of veterinary experience
 Learned and developed suture patterns (simple interrupted, simple continuous,
interlocking, vertical mattress, horizontal mattress, intradermal)
 Prepped patients for surgery (anesthetizing, shaving, sterile preparation)
 Monitored patients during post-operation recovery (anesthetic recovery period,
administered medications, cleaned and rewrapped surgical sites)
 Placed IV catheters in patients in need of fluids and blood transfusions
 Drew blood for various disease tests and chemistry panels (feline, canine,
equine, bovine)
 Placed tracheostomy tubes (feline, canine)
 Took radiographs of patients laterally and ventrodorsally (canine, feline)
 Placed urinary catheters in patients with blockage (canine, feline, caprine)

AUGUST 2018-NOVEMBER 2018


LSU SCHOOL OF VETERINARY MEDICINE: JUNIOR SURGERY LAB
In this paid position at the school of veterinary medicine, I was able to understand and further
appreciate the importance of sterile technique and the intricacy of surgery.
I developed the following skills:
 Assembled and autoclaved sterile packs
 Maintained an orderly and functional kennel area

JANUARY 2019-MAY 2019


LSU SCHOOL OF VETERINARY MEDICINE: RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT
In this paid position, I was tasked with viewing radiographic images, scanning them, and
organizing them into a teaching data base for the use of current and future doctors and students.
I developed the following skills:
 Developed an understanding of radiographic anatomy (canine, feline, equine,
bovine, avian)
 Developed an understanding of radiographic orientation
 Developed an understanding of diseases and defects from the radiographs

JANUARY 2019-MARCH 2019


LSU SCHOOL OF VETERINARY MEDICINE: INTERNAL MEDICINE RESEARCH
In this paid position, I gained a deeper understanding of abdominal ultrasonography, feline
behavior, and further appreciate the value of internal medicine. This research was focused on
the effects of antibiotics on feline gastrointestinal motility.
I developed the following skills:
 Trained and adapted feline research specimen for procedure
 Developed an understanding of abdominal ultrasonographic anatomy

I received my high school diploma from Hanson Memorial High School where I maintained a high
GPA while being heavily involved in student life and extra-curricular activities.

I am currently working towards my Bachelor of Science, majoring in Animal Science, while
maintaining a high GPA and being involved in campus and student life.
