GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR THE DIFFERENT SOCIO – CULTURAL EVENTS

Pop Dance/ Lyrical dance/ Competition


1. Contestants are limited to bonafide students of OLOPHS who dance for hobby and passion and
are NOT open to professional dance performers. Each team shall consist of:
a. Pop Dance and Lyrical Dance: 7 to 10 members, either all male, all female or mixed
gender
2. Only one entry can be honored from each team
3. A. for Pop Dance, Different dance forms or a combination is welcome in this competition
provided that the music must have any MBILE LEGENDS SOUDTRACK with the emphasis of
Pop Dance movements.
B. for LYRICAL DANCE, any genre may be performed in this competition.
However, in view of safety reason, any movements with inherent dangerous
maneuvers associated with dancers are not advised. The safety of dancers is up to
their team discretion. Contestants are mandated to agree that the dance competition
organizing committee hold NO responsibility for any mishaps or injuries that may
occur during the competition.
4. Costumes are required for both events.
5. Music can be mixed depending on the discretion of the team.
6. The team may appoint a person to coordinate the playing of the music with the sound crew.
7. Duration of the Dance
a. Pop Dance: the duration of the dance should not be less than 5 minutes and must not more
than 7 minutes including entrance and exit. Performance beyond 7 minutes will be
deducted from the final score. A deduction of 1 point per 10 seconds overtime shall be
imposed. The time shall be stopped at the end of music.
b. Lyrical Dance: the duration of the dance should not be less than 3 minutes and must not
more than 5 minutes including entrance and exit. Performance beyond 5 minutes will be
deducted from the final score. A deduction of 1 point per 10 seconds overtime shall be
imposed. The time shall be stopped at the end of music.
8. Props used in the performance should pose no danger to the dancers or the audiences most
especially to the next set of team contestants.
9. Every team is responsible for the security of it’s own music, costumes, props, make ups and
belongings. The competition organizing committee is not responsible for any lost or damaged
items.
10. Dancers which have inappropriate dresses, content and gestures will be disqualified.

Vocal Solo (Lolo’s Playlist) and Vocal Duet


1. Only one entry will be honored from each team.
2. Participants in the vocal solo may be a male or a female and for the vocal duet it may be a
male – male, female – female or combination of both.
3. A. The Vocal Solo should sing any OPM – Tagalog/ English from the 90’s.
B. The vocal Duet should sing any OPM – Tagalog/English love song.
4. Each team must provide introduction or description of the songs to be read by the host during
the competition.

Acoustic Jam
1. Only one entry in honored from each team.
2. Each competing team shall consist of not less than 7 minutes and not more than 10
participants which composed of:
a. Guitarists
b. Beat box players
c. Vocalists
3. Each team must have their own connector if they will be using electronic instruments.

4. Pieces to be used must be any OPM – Tagalog/English composed or sung by any Filipino
band group from 90’s to present (e.g., Eraserheads, Parokya ni Edgar etc.) with the group’s
original arrangement.
5. The competition allows each group to perform for not less than 5 minutes and not more than 7
minutes.

Song Choice/ Arrangement 20%

Couture / COSPLAY
1. Only one entry in honored from each team.
2. Participants must portray any hero coming from the name of their team.
3. It is the discretion of the team who will they choose as the cosplayer – either a male or a
female.
4. In the competition proper, the team must provide a copy of the picture of the hero which their
cosplayer is portraying.
5. The decision of the board of judges if final and irrevocable.

Note: A team is entitled for 20 kilos plastic bottles for every event they will not participate.
