First of all let us praise and thank the presence of Allah Almighty, for the abundance of grace
and the joy of all of us can still gather in this place without any barriers at all and in good
health. Not forgetting the sholawat and greetings we pour out to the Prophet Muhammad who
has brought us out of the dark ages to the era of bright light today, namely Islam. May we all
get intercession on the end. Aamiin Yaa Rabb.

Before I start, did you know me already? There is a saying that if you do not know then you
do not love. Therefore, allow me to introduce myself first. My name is Indra Lesmana R. I
used to call Indra. I attend at MA Darul Falah Cisurupan. Nice to meet you all and i wish
Alloh always blessing you all everytime, whenever and wherever you are.

On this good occasion, allow me standing here to deliver a couple of sentence speeches about
“Connecting Silaturahmi”.
Silaturahmi is an absorption word in Arabic, namely silaturrahmi. Silaturrahmi consists of
two words, namely “Silah”, which means to connect and “Rahmi” which means friendship.
So silaturami is to connect the friendship between us.
Silaturahmi is one of the sunnah recommended by the Prophet Muhammad. Because in
silaturahmi there will be various wisdoms of silaturahmi and also the primacy of silaturahmi
itself. As human beings who are used as social beings, of course, dealing with other humans
will not be separated in everyday life. We will not be able to live alone, because we will
always need help from others.
Silaturahmi is one of the morals of a Muslim. Allah Ta'ala has called upon his servant to
connect Silaturahmi in His glorious book. Between His words: "And fear Allah, who (uses)
His name you ask each other, and (guard) Silaturahmi relations. Allah always keeps and
watching over you." (QS An Nisaa '4: 1).
In addition to compulsory worship, there are many other services that receive good judgment
from Allah SWT, one of which is silaturahmi with anyone and anywhere. Because in
everyday life, every individual needs someone else and cannot live alone.

There are the ways when trying to connect silaturahmi, the first is of course intention. Even
though we have discussed the benefits of silaturahmi for the success of the world, that is not
the main intention. Our intention must be because of God. Without intention because of God,
we can get the benefits of the world such as being expanded by sustenance, but only in the
world. If we want to get the benefits of the world and the hereafter, then intent on Silaturahmi
only for Allah, worshiping Allah.
However, we also do not need to deny the benefits of the world. We may expect to get
benefits in the world, but not our main intention. If we cannot hope for these benefits, why
did the Messenger of Allah mention it? We may expect the benefits of the world, but not the
main intention.
What needs to be considered again is not the Silaturahmi that extends our sustenance, but
Allah who expands our sustenance in return we want to connect our sustenance. Likewise, it
is not a prayer that causes our wishes to come true, but that is God's will as an answer to our
prayers.
The second is love. The word silaturahmi comes from two words namely shilahun and
Rahmi. Shilah means that the relationship and the Rahmi means love, brotherhood, or the
mercy of Allah ta'ala. So silaturahmi means connecting love, brotherhood because of God, so
that God's grace accompanies that bond.
How about dating? Does it enter silaturahmi? Although there is "love" and "bond", it does
not include what is meant by silaturahmi as taught by the Messenger of Allah. Why? The
first is not exemplified and the second if association between men and women is not
respected by God, it is impossible to bring mercy. So what is meant by Silaturahmi in this
discussion does not include courtship at all.
What is meant by love here is love for fellow Muslims because in fact every Muslim is a
brother. Also love to Allah’s Creature by spreading goodness and truth on earth.
With love you will not be hard to meet with your loved ones, to help those you love, to show
the right way to those you love, even willing to sacrifice for those you love. It is impossible
for a scorn to come from a Muslim to his consciousness. He only hates wrong behavior, but
wants to save the culprit.
So, whose name is silaturahmi is not limited to meeting, but also makes the meeting a means
of bringing God's grace. The simplest is the greeting, where we pray for the people we meet
to get the salvation and mercy of Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala.
If love becomes the basis, so the silaturahmi can do to know the condition of our brothers or
sisters by visiting them, help them if they need help, save them from the situation if it leads to
destruction.
Of course, we can use mosques, recitations, charitable and social activities, seminars,
organizations, even when working can be used as a tool to stay in touch. Including through
the internet: email, YM, and social networks.

It is not silaturahmi if it did by connecting love with means of orgies, opening up aurat,
unlimited sex of the opposite sex, and getting drunk. Things like this will never bring mercy.
Because silaturahmi is a heart and physical activity, then sustenance can come in various
ways. Meeting you with siblings can bring opportunities, both job opportunities and business
opportunities. But we don't limit it to that, because God has the authority to give sustenance
to His servants from unexpected directions. When and how much, it is God's decisive right.
Allah knows, how much and when is the best time for us.
Be patient, the sustenance will come, stay in touch because God cannot violate His promises.
