Effect of Modulus of Elasticity and
Moment of Inertia on displacement
The frame shown in figure below is analyzed and horizontal displacement (Q1), vertical displacement
(Q2) and rotation (Q3) are determined for different values of modulus of elasticity (E) and moment
of inertia (I).

Given Frame

Nodal Co-ordinates
Effect of Modulus of Elasticity:
The horizontal displacement, vertical displacement and rotation are
determined for different values of modulus of elasticity. The range of
modulus of elasticity is taken from 70GPa to 200GPa. The cross section
of frame is taken constant value as depth
(D) = 20mm and width (B) = 10mm. The graphs between displacements and
modulus of elasticity are plotted.

Effect of moment of inertia:
The horizontal displacement, vertical displacement and rotation are
determined for different values of moment of inertia. The depth and
width of beam is varied and displacement is calculated. The modulus of
elasticity of frame material is taken constant as 70GPa. The graphs
between displacements and moment of inertia are plotted.
