Monthly Writing Choice Board Homework
When there is a monthly writing project, your child should choose ONE item to complete for
homework. Please hand in the assignment on the last school day of the month. Students will present
their projects to the class to receive a speaking an listening grade.
The assignment can be handwritten or typed!
1- Personal Narrative
Write a real story about
something that happened in your
life. Choose any topic you want!
Going on Vacation
On a wintery cold day I found out some
unbelievable news! My mom called me into
the living room and said “The family is going
to Disney World.” I started to jump up and
down. A huge smile appeared on my face.
Make sure your story has AT LEAST 8
sentences and includes a title, beginning,
middle and end. Add dialogue, similes, and
feeling sentences.

character, friend, teacher, or

Pick ONE writing prompt or
POEM and create a story.
