Mintal Comprehensive High School triumphs the ISO 9001:2015 Stage 1 Audit

Mintal Comprehensive High School cheered triumphant during the Stage 1 External Audit of the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 – Quality Management System on July 1,
2019 with “Provision of Inclusive Education for Junior and Senior High School” as the scope of audit. The
institution eyes to be the first Comprehensive High School in the Philippines to be certified by ISO
9001:2015 with the initiative of TÜV SÜD that has certified various companies to different management
system standards and has various ongoing projects in different industries all around the globe.

“On behalf of TÜV SÜD PSB Philippines, I’d like to thank Mintal Comprehensive High School for allowing
us to be part of your certification journey and for your continual improvement in your quest to quality,”
said Mr. Xavier Lance Dy, the external auditor during the opening meeting. It was an intense day for
MCHS as the team headed by Dr. Johnito O. Galan, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) together
with the unit heads has undergone an exacting audit processes.

Mintal Comprehensive High School started their internal groundwork for ISO Certification since March
19, 2019 with its ISO Awareness Orientation by Mr. Emmanuel Alpha D. Sicam, the school’s ISO
consultant as the resource speaker. In due course, the school has started to assess existing procedures
and align them with the statutory and regulatory requirements and ISO 9001:2015 standards through an
orientation from the National Archives of the Philippines, an orientation on the crafting of quality
management procedures, a crafting of quality objectives, an internal audit and management review
presentations.

“Congratulations team! Rest assured that whatever the result of stage 1 audit is, we will continue to
improve our system to further provide our clients, particularly our learners with quality services,” said
Dr. Galan before the announcement of the result.

A solemn ambiance filled the function hall during the closing meeting as each concern was discussed
during the announcement of result. Eventually, as the auditor officially declared that the school has
passed the stage 1 with no critical and with only 7 other areas of concern, resonance of relief and joy
occupied the venue.

The Stage 2 Audit will take place on August 14, 2019. The MCHS, headed by Public Schools District
Supervisor Dr. Johnito O. Galan, with the support of the teaching and non-teaching personnel commits
to surpass their effort and dedication exerted during the Stage 1 Audit, for the success of this historic
undertaking which will directly assist the learners in the attainment of higher learning outcomes.
