 One point lighting is normally set up with a key light but a soft
One Point Lighting light can replace the key light instead.

For the first image, I used a 650W key light which brightens the
subjects face which takes out the shadows on the right side of
his face, whilst the other side is completely dark. The second
image, I used a 300W fill light which also brightens up the
subjects face but it is much more darker to create a more
menacing look on the subject.
 Two point lighting is normally set up with a key light and to
Two Point Lighting eliminate shadows on the characters face, a fill light is added.

In both images I use a fill light to illuminate the other side of the
character but the top image I uses a 650W key light and the
bottom image I use a 300W key light.
 Three point lighting is used with a key light, a fill light and a
Three Point Lighting backlight.

The set up I used to create the three point lighting illuminates

the back of the subject to cancel out small shadows.
 Preferred mainly for interviews, PAG lighting is used to keep the
PAG Lighting object or subject visible as it is placed on top of the camera. The
light is flexible in a way that the light can be changed however
you like. As a result of this, the shots can be clear for the viewer
to see the subject’s facial expressions. PAG lighting is usually
used in news interviews due to the news reporter or a guest is
the main attraction in the shot, shining onto them while being
time efficient.

 When dealing with lighting equipment, there are a few dangers
Health & Safety that you must be aware of:

When light is produced, heat is transmitted and can become

extremely hot which can burn your hands. This includes the barn
doors on the light. In order to prevent this, gloves must be used
to protect your hands from the heat. Also to stop the lights from
being hot is to turn the light off when not used.

When using diffusers or gel lighting filters, you should connect

them to the barn doors with a crocodile clips. Making it efficient
and safe for you to remove it afterwards.

Wires connected to the lights are also a safety hazard as you

could trip from them. It is best if you push the wires away from
walking radius such as towards the corner or the edge of the
room.

 For the Music Video we used Lil Yachty’s “1 Night”. The idea of
Music Video the lighting in the music video was to keep our subject visible for
the camera however keeping him slightly dark, as the song is
about preferring a one night stand rather than getting into a
relationship. The light blue colour in the background is to set a
calm atmosphere whilst contrasting with the subject’s red outfit;
it also flows with the softness of the beat. In order to do this,
two point lighting is used and colour gels are placed on the
lights to present the cool colours in the background.

Although the shots from outside doesn’t require much attention

to facial detail as we mostly filmed quick shots, we used natural
lighting as we filmed it during the day, where we didn’t need any
lighting as it was bright enough to shoot.
 In my Film Noir edit we use high-key lighting on the character but
Film Noir not too bright as the brightness determines the masculinity and
femininity of a character. In the video I used a silhouette over the
light to create a venetian blind look as it’s a typical genre
convention for a film noir, also it shows that the character in the
shot is a detective or linked to law enforcement.

Soft light is put on the subject to keep minimal lighting on him to

disassociate him from looking like a hero or villain as the main
character of noirs are generally anti-heroes. While the light used
to create the venetian blinds are used by hard light.
