TIPS UPON TAKING THE BOARD EXAM 1.Take Notes by hand. Instead of using your laptops, it is better to take note using
paper and pen. Scientist recommend this because students who take notes by hand tend to process and reframe the
information. 2.Simplify and Summarize Information You need to simplify, summarize or compress the information. Use
mnemonic devices like acronyms, as these are proven to increase learning efficiency. 3.Do not Multitask An effective
review is focused on just one thing at a time. So do not review while watching television, replying in a text conversation,
or checking your facebook/social media pages. 4.Learn in Various Ways According to research, different media simulate
different parts of the brain. read your notes, books, watch youtube tutorials, check other online materials/resources or
teach someone your learnings. 5.Check your State of Mind If you are not in the mood to study, your brain will not be
receptive of new information. You are only wasting your time. Make sure to put yourself in an ideal state of mind. Stay
focus and have a drive to learn. 6.Study Break is Important According to a research, taking a 5-minute study break every
25 minutes actually helps promote better assimilation of information. Your brain will absorb more concepts and the
information will make sense. 7.Keep Asking Questions While doing your review, you need to clarify what is already
known, uncover what is unknown, and figure out questions you need to know. 8.Make Learning Relevant Find ways to
make your learnings relevant to you. If the learning is relevant, it is easier to retain and recall and it will also last in your
memory. 9.Check the Learning Materials Ensure that the learning materials you use in your review are really helpful an
relevant to you. Quality over quality. 10.Get into an Ideal Learning State. You need to convince yourself to review with a
purpose to retain the drive to review. You need a strong anticipation, motivation and desire to review. 11.Set Realistic
Time Set a realistic timeframe to accomplish your SMART goals. Create a study timetable to follow to cover all review
learning areas. Post is somewhere in your room or as a reminder in your phone. 12.Have a SMART Goal List them down
(Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound) and post it in your room as a daily reminder until the release of
the results of the exam. "BY FAILING TO PREPARE, YOU ARE PREPARING TO FAIL"
