Significant of the study
The purpose of this study aims to help the process of submitting grades in the office
and improve the system to provide fast and easy ways for the students and teachers to manage
the student grades.
The result of this study is significant to the following:
Students. their Students can now view their grades online and students can now know if they
need to excel in their class. They can now look forward to better lesson since their teacher would
have added time to prepare for them lesson plan.
Teachers. Teachers would be able to record and compute for the grades of their students faster.
Thereby lessening their worked.
Guidance counsellor. It can help them lessen their tasks in regards with notifying the parents of
candidates for referral.
Parents/Guardian. It can help them monitor the grades of their children
online.
School administrator. School administrator no longer have to re-compute the grades of each
students to check on their accuracy report such as grading sheets and class records can be
submitted on time.
Future researcher. This study may serve as a reference for the future researcher for the
improvement of the system in the near future. This study will serve as training for the
proponents, to enhance their skills in web development.
Scope and delimitation of the study
This study was conducted at Tarlac State University (TSU) involving the students during school
year 2019-2020.
This study focuses in the Perception of students towards online grading system.
This study is limited to the system will cover the following:
1. Allow students to view their grades online
2. Generate report as list of students grades sheets and class record.
3. Computerize data processing such as:
*Computation and submission of grades including prelims, midterm and final.
4. Import and export grade sheet in excel file format.

This terminologies used in the study are defined in this segment to serve as a guide to the
concepts of this research.
Education- is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values,
beliefs, and habit(Wikipedia).In this study education makes better for teachers and students.
Internet- an electronic communications networks that connects computer networks and
organizational computer facilities around the world ( Merriam Webster 2019). In this study
internet is the main tool in doing online grading system.
Perception- the way you think about or understand someone or something( Merriam Webster
2019).In this study the perception of students in using online grading system is reference to know
the impact of it.
Online- Connected to served by , or available through a system and specially a computer or
telecommunication system (Merriam Webster 2019) In this study online is the way to get the

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKROUND

Introduction
Online Grading system is designed to provide incentive reward for achievement and assist in
identifying problems of the students. Grading system is the most commonly used in computing
and analysing the performance of students. Grading system is an exercise in professional
judgement on the part of the teachers. It involves the collection and evaluation of evidence on
students achievement or performance over specified period of time.
With the use of online grading system parents can view and updated on the performance and
grades of their children and they can know if their children is study very well. While teachers
work load can be lessen through computing the grades automatically. Furthermore, it is not
easy for a teacher to manage hundreds of records in an accurate way without using
automation. It is necessary that students should have grades at the end of the school year.
This study focuses on the monitoring and management of students grades and promotes
transparency to give answer to the students doubt to their grades with regards to their grades.
The awareness of the students view their grades will serve as a reliable reference to them to
improve their studies to attain high grades. Students view their grades using their username
and password to access or log in to the online application. Many private school and colleges are
adapting continuous improvement program to improve operational work.
According to Moreno(2000), school is now in their own website but they got to effectively
utilize this technology to bring real benefits to their audience: Students, parents, teachers and
school officials.
Since, online grading system is a system that uses internet that allow faculty to manage class
grades. Nowadays, computers and other technology are very useful in the fields of education
especially in our daily activities. With those technologies, we can save time for other activities.
