A hook is an opening statement (which is usually the first sentence) in an essay that attempts
to grab the reader’s attention so that they want to read on. It can be done by using a few
different types of hooks, which are a question, quote, statistic, or anecdote.)
4.) A thesis statement clearly identifies the topic being discussed, it should only
cover what is being discussed in the paper, and is written for a specific
audience. Your thesis statement belongs at the end of your first paragraph, also
known as your introduction. Use it to generate interest in your topic and
encourage your audience to continue reading.
5.) The point of having Body Paragraphs in your paper is to explain and develop the points that
you made in your introductory paragraph and your thesis statement. Each paragraph must have
a clear and focused point, set forth by your topic sentence, and must be continuous with the
paragraphs before and after as well as support your thesis.
6.) Restate the thesis statement in other words. Give an overview of the main points of the
paper, referring from the entire body paragraphs. Link back to the attention grabber to conclude
your essay. Restating an idea is just saying it in different words. A restatement
uses different sentence structure. When you want to restate an idea, don't start
with the original phrasing and try to change it. In fact, don't look at the original
phrasing at all. Instead, think of the idea in your head and try to come up with a
different way of putting it from scratch.
7.) Write the significance of the study by looking into the general contribution of your study,
such as its importance to society as a whole, then proceed downwards—towards its contribution
to individuals and that may include yourself as a researche The significance of the study is a
part of the introduction of a thesis/research. It should determine who benefits from
the study and how that specific audience willbenefit from its findings.
