RESEARCH POST #1:

📣📣BREAKING NEWS: NEW STUDY! 📣📣

📣♂️📣♂️Did you know that lifting weights appears to help fight off heart disease? 📣♂️📣♂️

In fact, it might be just as important as getting cardio exercise.

📣📣A new study JUST published in March 2019 in the Journal: Medicine & Science in Sports &
Exercise found that working out with weights for about an hour a week, broken up into one to
three sessions can cut the risk of heart attack or stroke by up to 70%!

📣That’s even for people who didn’t get any “aerobic” -- cardio -- exercise. The study followed
more than 12,500 people for almost 20 years.

📣Working out longer or more often didn’t appear to add to the health benefits, according to this
study.

📣The scientists believe resistance training helps reduce the risk of developing heart disease
because it improves your body composition (leading to less fat and more muscle) and also cuts
your risk of developing high cholesterol.

📣The takeaway? Not only can resistance training help shape your body, it’s important for your
heart!

RESEARCH POST #2:

📣📣📣If you drink diet sodas, listen up! It might be time to think about switching out your drink for
something else!

📣A recent study published in the medical journal Stroke found that a higher intake of artificially
sweetened beverages (like diet sodas) led to an increased risk of stroke, coronary artery
disease and a higher risk of death in general.
APRIL 2019 EDITION

In women with no history of diabetes or heart disease, drinking more than 1 diet soda a diet was
associated with a two-fold risk of having an ischemic stroke! 📣

📣The study included almost 82,000 women as part of the Women’s Health Initiative
Observational Study. Most of the women in the study (61%) never or rarely drank artificially
sweetened sodas, but after taking out a number of variables, those that consumed the most diet
drinks – more than 1 a day – had a much higher risk of developing disease.

📣📣📣If you drink diet sodas or other artificially sweetened beverages, you can gradually wean
yourself away from it. Try substituting other drinks such as tea or seltzer water, before making
the switch to water. ☕

❓Do you drink diet soda? Are you willing to commit to cutting back? Let me know below!

Also- be sure to pass this along to anyone who drinks diet soda!
