Course Objectives
 To let the students develop understanding of the concepts and principles of Project Risk Management
with an objective of successful project completion.
 To let the students develop understanding of environments in which projects operate and how risks
may hinder the success of the projects.
 To acquire knowledge of the projects qualitative and quantitative risk analysis.
 To enable students to develop understanding of the concepts of risk identification and planning for
the mitigation processes.
 Understand the processes engaged with monitoring and controlling the risk management with
projects.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this course, students should be able to
 Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Project setup towards running successful project risk
analysis.
 Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Project risk identification & management.
 Developing project risk responses with objective to reduce negative impacts of risks.
 Developing project strategies to transform the identified risks into opportunities through SWOT
analysis.

COURSE CONTENTS & PLAN:

 Lecture 01: Introduction of the subject and course outline to be discussed.


 Lecture 02: Introduction to Principles and Practices engaged with Project Risk Management.
 Lecture 03: Introduction of Project Risk Management Processes & Protocols.
 Lecture 04: Understanding the Role of Project Manager in managing a Project based
Organization.
 Lecture 05: Project Risk Management – Planning.
 Lecture 06: Project Risk Management – Identification of Risks Quiz 01(10 marks).
 Lecture 07: Project 01. Develop a Project Risk Management Plan with focus on the development
of Project Charter, Project Scope and related identification of Risks. (10 Marks).
 Lecture 08: Project submission and revision of previous lecture towards preparation of Midterm
examination.
 Midterm Examination: As per schedule of the institution (20 marks).
 Lecture 09: Midterm marks announcement & papers review. Discussing the concerns & complete
remaining presentations.
 Lecture 10: Project Risk Management – Qualitative Risk Analysis.
 Lecture 11: Project Risk Management – Quantitative Risk Analysis.
 Lecture 12: Project Risk Management – Risk Response Planning.
 Lecture 13: Project Risk Management – Implementing Risk Responses. Quiz 02 (10 marks).
 Lecture 14: Project Risk Management – Monitoring Risk Responses. Assigning Project 02.
 Lecture 15: Presentation of Project 02 as final assignment (10 Marks).
 Lecture 16: Project submission and revision of previous lectures (9-15) towards preparation of
Final term examination.
 Final term Examination: As per schedule of the institution (40 marks).
