ABSTRACT

The study evaluated the effectivity of combined garment tool than

using separated tools by combining hip curve, French curve, and l-square

in garment technology with a respondents of grade 8, 9, 10, 11, & 12

garments students in San Pedro Relocation Center Ba ional High School. To

accomplish the objective of the research, the study used the sampling

technique. The survey and analysis revealed that there is no significant

differencen of using combined garment tool to separate garment tools in

the performance of the garment students in terms of design and efficiency

INTRODUCTION

The tools and techniques have different origins and have been

developed for different

purposes. (Binder and Brandt,2008). Due to the fact that many combinations

can be

synthesized to generate various machine tool (Cheng and She,2000).

Researchers utilized

the coordinate transformation matrix to develop the multiaxis postprossecor for

diverent

machine tools. However, because of the multiaxis NC (numeric control) data

can only be

applied to the specific machine tool configuration and various combinations

may be

synthesized to generate various multiaxis tool configuration (Sheng,2002). The

aim of the

study is to implement a unique construction and arramgement of rhe L-square,

Hip curve

and French curve, to implement the combination of drafting tools which will be

relatively

simple in construction, durable, and compact and which may be manufactured

at low cost.

The study combined 3 separate tools which will be relatively in Garments

Technology at San

Pedro Relocation Center National High School (SPRCNHS) in a durable and

compact

construction.

According to cheng and she(2002). The machine tools can be considered

as chains

that is serially come led to joint. The joint can be either revolute or prismate. A

revolute is a

rotation about the joint axis without any slide motion, while a prismate joint is a

translation

parallel to the joint axis. As stated on the study of (Blythe) the hotel managers who

are trying

to evaluate guest's perception of their property will have the best results if they

combined

several common measurement tools.

According to zhang et,al.,(2017) The tool wear is serious during the cutting

process,

which result in poor workpiece quality and lower productivity and other issues.

Therefore the

tool wear can be monitored in real time during the cutting process, which is

practical

significance to improve tge quality of the workpiece and improve the production

efficiency .

Zheng et,al., studied the relationship between cutting forces and tools life under

the different

lubrication conditions.

Because of having a lot of time spending in getting separate tools that

may use in

their workplace. The researchers proposed thus study to create 1 set of tool that

may help

the workers to work in their working area easily. And to help them to lessen the

consumed

time in getting their tools. That's why the researcher produce a tool that workers

can

easily use and make their life a little lighter.

Theoretical Framework

Striking tools theory- shows that the effeciency of the tools defends both

upon the

location of its center of gravity and magnitude of its radius gyration. The

striking tool

may be defined as the device design to transmit a force of an object by

direct contact,

and in so doing, either change the shape of an object or drive it forward.

Through the

years, the increasing of differentiation of human work activities has resulted

in

thedevelopment of the large number of different striking tools and

implements.(Fremont, 1923)

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to evaluate the effectivity of the combined tools by

combining hip curve, french curve and L-square in garments technology.

Specifically, it seeks answer to the following.

1. What are the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:

a.age

b.Sex

2. Is the design of combined tools appropriate in drafting pattern?

3.How does the efficiency of combined tools affect the performance of

the students

While working?

4. Is there any significant difference of using combined garment tool to

separate garment tools in the performance of the garment students in terms

of design and efficiency?

Statement of the Hypothesis

There is no significant difference of using combined garment tool to

separate garment tools in the performance of the garment students in terms

of design and efficiency.

Combinations -combines multiple belief functions through their basic

probability

assignment.(dempster rule of combination). In this study it is the mixing of

the l-square,

french curve and hip-curve in order to make one tool.

Efficiency -is defined as a ratio of the energy out of the tool at the

instant of contact to the energy input expended in its rising and

striking.(Drillis et,al.,1963) it is

how effecient the tool is while using it.

French-curve - this is used to shape the depth of the neckhole and

armhole

pattern.(K-12 basic Education Curriculum Technology and Livelihood

Education

Dressmaking/Tailoring). In his study it is one of the tool we used to combined

in order to

make a combined tool.

Garment design- it offers a qualitative jump in a way that design is

carried out,

where thr discreto transition between phrases vanish, drafting,

manufacturing, and

critique of 3D form are fused into one seamlines, natural process(Umateni

et,al.,). This is

where the design of the tool is effective in drafting pattern.

L-square - used to transfer measurements to draft pattern. It also

divides the

garment in the desired lines and numbers(K-12 basic education curriculum

technology

and livelihood education. Dressmaking/tailoring) It is a tool with long length

that

completed the combined tool.

Tools - the material components that are used in Participatory

Design(PD)

activities.(Sanders et.al.,) it can use in drafting pattern easily.

This study " Combined Tools: developing a set of tool by combining l-

square, hip-curve

and french curve to benefit the following:

Teacher: the result of this study aims to help the teachers to makr their

students

to perform well in school.

Sewers: this study may help the sewers to lessen the time in getting

separate tools.

And help them to do their job easily.

Students: the product of this research may help the students to perform well

in their

school. It will help them to have a set of tool that they may use

easily.

Future researcher: the result of thus research may help the future

researcher to get

ideas about the topic regarding on combining of tools. It may

help them to

have a guide for their future researh.

METHODOLOGY

The Research Design

In this day the Researcher design we’re using is Descriptive design.

This is we’re the descriptive design aims to describe a detailed information

that answers the questions Who, What, When, Where and How except the
questions “Why”.

According to Lambert (2012) descriptive studies is a comprehensive

summarization in everyday terms of specific events experienced by

individuals or groups of individuals. Descriptive design studies are the least

“Theoretical” of all the qualitative approaches to research.

The reason why the researcher choose the descriptive design


because it

helps them to described the detailed information to sustained in thier


product to

supply the complete information to better understand the other conflict

words. The researcher use a descriptive design by describing the every


single

piece of the unfamiliar words. The researcher are also described the

detailed process in order to understand why they come up on thier product.

The descriptive designter understand the other researcher the product that

they want to developed by describing the detailed process and step by step

information.

Participants of the study

The participants of this study are the students from Grade 8 to Grade

12 in Garments Technology in San Pedro Relocation Center National High

School (Main Campus). Wherein the overall population is 177 and 50 for

its computed size. That will serve as the participants of this study. And this

research, purposive will be its sampling technique.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researcher prepare a letter for the principal in order to permitted

to give a questionnaires. And also prepare questionnaire for the

participants. The ethical considerations is the giving the questionnaire to

the respondents to the time to be given to test the reliability testing and

were given a questionnaire to the respondents. The researcher use a

questionnaire by collecting a data. The researcher interpret the data that

they gathered.

Statistical Treatment

The target of the researcher is to Describe and Compare the data.


Their

Sample size is 50. Their Independent variables are efficiency, design,

and the Dependent variable is the effectivity of combined tools. The

Predominant statistical to be use is the nominal,compare,correlation. The

nominal data ( Describe) frequency and percentage of the responses, Bar

chart and Pie chart. (Compare), correlation.

This will be using One Way Anova as statistical treatment of this study.

Researchers statistically analyzed the data to answer objectives and to test the

hypothesis.

Frequency counts and percentage were computed tk analyze the demographic profile

of the respondents.

Weighted mean is used to identify the acceptability of integrating blog to 2D animation

class in terms of: information source, design and electronic learning when they are

grouped into their age and sex.

The table shows the reliability of the instrument. This implies that that the questionnaire
is reliable by collecting the data to fulfill the objectives of the research.

RESULT

This Chapter deals with the presentation,analysis,and interpretation of data

gathered from the respondents that were processed,grouped,treated statistically and

presented in tabular forms by the Researcher from the answers of 50 respondents from

High School.

Table 1 shows the validity of the questionnaire. The first got total mean of 2.86, second

got 2.83, third got 2.93 and tge usefulness got 2.93. In overall tge mean is 2.88.

The equivalent means range and its description shows that there are three (3) score of

range. First states 1.00-1.74, means that the questionnaire is not suitable for the study.

Second shows 1.75-2.49, means the questionnaire needs revision for the study. Third

range states 2.50-3.24, it implies that the questionnaire is suitable for the study. The

means of the questionnaire steps out at 2.88. It implies that the questionnaire is suitable

for the study

One Way Anova

The one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) is used to determine whether there are any

statistically significant differences between the means of two or more independent

(unrelated) groups (although you tend to only see it used when there are a minimum of

three, rather than two groups).

RESEARCH QUESTION NO 1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents?

Table 3 shows the frequency distribution of the respondents according to their age. Ages

of 16-17 got the highest frequency of 11 or as 44% of the respondents. This was followed

by the ages 14-15 with the frequency of 9 or 36%. While ages 18-19 has the frequency

of 3 or 12% of the respondents.The least were in the ages of 12-13 and 20 and above

with the corresponding frequency of 1 or 4% of the respondents. This implies that the

majority of the respondents are in the ages of 16-17.

b. Sex of the Respondents

Female got the highest frequency of 21 or 64% of the respondents. Only 4 ,or 16% of the

respondents are male. This implies that the majority of the respondents were female.

Table 4 shows the consolidated responses in design of combined garment tool. Based

on the table, item 1, 2, 3 and 4 : are acceptable for the respondents. This implies that the

design of combined garment tool is acceptable with the weighted mean of 3.27 with its

corresponding verbal interpretation of strongly agree.

RESEARCH QUESTION NO 3. How does the efficiency of combined tools affect the

performance of the students While working?

Table 5 shows the consolidated responses in terms of the efficiency of combined tools.

Based on the table, item 5, 6, and 7: the efficiency of combined garment tool was pleasing

for the respondents. This implies that the efficiency of combined garment tool was

pleasing with the weighted mean of 3.33 and verbal interpretation of strongly agree.

terms of design and efficiency?

efficiency and design. The study states that there is no significant difference of

using combined garment tool to separate garment tools in the performance of the

garment students in terms of design and efficiency.

Discussion

In this study based on the data that they gathered the majority of the

respondents are 16-17 years old and this is composed of female. Is there any significant

difference of using combined garment tool than separate garment tools in the

performance of the garments students in terms of efficiency and design? The study

reveals that there is no significant difference in using a combined garment tool than

separated tool in the performance of the garment students in terms of design and

efficiency. In conclusion, there is no significant difference in using a combined garment

tool than using a separated tool.

Recommendations

The combined garment tool must be more finished with its edge. The combined

garment tool needs more improvement like, its measurement, its size, in length. The

combined garment tool needs to be enlarged.
