Petition for Reconsideration

Dear Sir,

This letter pertains to my alleged offense/infraction which is AWOL. I am ROGELIO

P. SAQUILABON JR. which is a Seaman Second of the Philippine Navy and was assigned
at F2 Office, Sangley Point, Cavite City.

Last December 28, 2018, I was to report back at Sangley Point, Cavite City. However,
due to unforeseen events I was not able to do so. During this time my wife suffered
miscarriage, and due to this I was required to be at bedside during her healing period. However,
it was very unfortunate that my wife intensely grieved the loss of our child. I, on the other
hand, carried most of the burden emotionally, mentally and physically. My wife further
suffered clinical depression due to the said circumstance. I knew my duties and responsibilities
as a serviceman, however, my family’s great need for emotional support became my primary
responsibility. Surely, any head of the family would have done the same during the most
stressful and depressing moments of the family.

As me and my family were in Cebu City during this period, it became more difficult for
me to get a hold of the office as well as some of my other colleagues. Many times, I have tried
to contact the office but most of my communications were never received.

There were many times I tried to return to Sangley Point, Cavite City but the condition
of my wife prohibited me as she was not yet improving. It was after many months that she
and I recovered from our loss.

Now, as I am ready, complete and equipped to return, I am most respectfully asking

for the kindest indulgence of your good office that I be allowed to continue being a member
of the Philippine Navy as Seaman Second. I know that the present circumstance does not
admit any exemption but I am deeply hoping that I may be allowed to continue serving our
country and men.
