Cooperatives, NCCC Chain of Stores and Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU), is now working together to
empower start up initiatives from among the cooperative membership in Mindanao by launching the Coop Kicks
(ck) program. The program will feature entrepreneurship and technology bootcamps, pitching competitions,
mentorship, incubation and marketplace support, and access to financing for innovative business ideas and
models.
A.) COOPERATIVES
Duly registered cooperatives in Mindanao may become part of the program as business proponents and/or
finance providers. If your cooperative has a breakthrough business solution, or a product or service awaiting for
kickstart, form a team of at least three participants and submit an entry for the Coop Kicks (ck) pitching
competition by registering as a PROPONENT. Proponents may register through this link: bit.ly/CoopKicks2018.
If your cooperative is interested in becoming one of the finance providers, please register as a VENTURE
CAPITALISTS. Please email your expression of interest to mcnfederation@gmail.com with the subject line: ck
Venture Capital.
Individuals or teams of up to 4 members who are residents of Mindanao, with business solutions, products or
services may register as PROPONENTS. Individual proponents will have to be 18 to 35 years old. For teams with
more than one member, at least 1 member should be 18 - 35 years. Cooperative members or non-members who
are willing to become a member of any of the participating cooperatives are welcome to participate.
HOW TO REGISTER?
Short-listed PROPONENTS can avail of free registration in entrepreneurship and technology bootcamps, and a
chance to become one of the finalists in the Coop Kicks (ck) final round on December 1, 2018.
1 MVP (Most Valuable Proposition) will get additional Php 300,000.00 seed funding support.
The project will enjoin cooperatives to participate as Venture Capitalists. To share the potential benefits and
inherent risks in funding start-ups, contributions from the cooperatives will be pooled together as a VENTURE
CAPITAL GROUP and will be used not just for the prizes of the winning proposition but also for the related expenses
in mounting the Coop Kicks activities.
Each cooperative is enjoined to contribute at least 50,000.00 to this project. Such fund will form part of the Php
1,500,000.00 budget for the project. In return, this pool of funds is given a 10% equity share in each of the five (5)
winning propositions, upon their launching as a business/enterprise.
The proceeds of the equity shares in these businesses will then be distributed to participating cooperatives in
proportion to their share in the 1.5 Million pooled funds.
Contributions from the cooperatives shall be remitted to 1-CISP through Account Number __________________.
1CISP shall manage the safekeeping and disbursement of said funds.
