Park Glen Elementary Music MY MISSION: As the music teacher, my objective is not only teaching

MY MISSION:

As the music teacher, my objective is not only teaching basic aspects of music, but to engage students in a love of music in their own way as well as creating and performing music to the best of their ability. My goal is that they will gain a passion and a lifelong appreciation and understanding for all music they might encounter in their lives.

RULES in the music room:

THE MUSICIAN WILL:

-Always listen and follow the teacher’s directions -Raise your hand to speak or ask a question -Treat all instruments with respect -Be respectful of classmates and the music -Be respectful of music making and other’s abilities and creativity -One person speaks at time. When someone is talking, you are not. -Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself. -If it’s not yours, don’t touch it.

CONDUCT:

NOTES:

I tell all my students that I’m not looking for the next rock-star in my classroom. I’m looking for those who try and give their best.

I want my students to become comfortable when

making music and performing for others

I also want them to have fun and learn to value

and appreciate a variety of musical repertoire.

Take a look at my PGE Music Website for upcoming/important dates, program practice, choir info, music games and more! This is one of my main forms of communication and classroom updates, I update it frequently.
