Alongside our Skills Training Program in Schools, Ntegeka Initiatives wants to teach women and young girls how to make Re-Usable Menstrual Pads. In these trainings we use locally sourced materials, found here in Luwero, which makes this an easy to make and money saving activity. The students not only learn how to make these pads, but also learn more about their Menstrual Cycles and how to take care of these pads. Each woman could use 3 pads to cover their menstrual period, after properly washing these pads they can then be re-used, making it more affordable than buying new tampons.
