Classroom Management
Engagement such as teacher to student, student to student, and teacher to class is the
foundation to classroom management. The engagement involves the classroom dynamics how
the teacher interacts with each student, the entire class, and how the students interact amongst
each other. The teacher creates an environment that is conducive for learning such as providing
materials based on the students’ needs and interest, proper room arrangement, and effective
classroom management strategies. In order to keep the students; engage, the teacher must have
an approach that demands the students’ attention. The teacher must speak to the students in way
Establishing clear procedures, routines, and behavior expectations will help to provide a
safe and comfortable learning. Classroom procedures helps students to know what to do next
when they are done with their assignments, when they are able to use the restroom or
transitioning to the next activity. Procedures tells the student how the teacher wants things
should be handled in the classroom. Routines in the classroom must be consistent for the students
to easy to follow. A picture schedule can be used for younger students to help them to understand
what going to happen next. Creating clear rules to help the students understand what the
behavioral expectations in the classroom. Furthermore, children to know that there are
consequences for disobeying the rules. Thus, students learn to manage their own behaviors by
following directions.
Classroom management strategies must meet the needs of diverse students, instructional
goals, and family involvement. Diverse students such as dealing children with the children with
special needs, behavioral needs, or cognitive needs. For instance, a child that misbehaves to seek
the attention of others may need to seat closer to the teacher. In addition, give attention to the

student when he is on-task and being good by praising their behavior. Furthermore, classroom
management helps the teacher to achieve instructional goals because the students learn how to be
on task and engage in the learning activities to meet the goals. For instance, teacher will lose
instructional time because she has to constantly stop during instruction to manage the students’
concern about their child development and learning. Thus, the teacher must have a clear method
communicating with families. Most importantly, the teacher creates and welcoming environment
