“Sip and Slice” Business Model
The figure illustrates how the “Sip and Slice” enterprise will run. It will start with the
planning of business where capital and manpower arose. The capital of the said business will be
P 1,600,000 million, while the hiring for employment will be taken care of.
The capital will be designated to purchase all the materials needed for the business
categorized into two sections: the shop proper and the ingredients. The shop proper will include
space rental, interior set up, cooking set, and utensil set, while the ingredients will include the
raw materials and other foods to be operated and to be sold in the business proper.
Meanwhile, as soon as the materials needed to operate came, the necessity of the business
manpower comes to the picture. This will hold the location of the shop, shop hours, and the
product preparation processes. The location of the shop involves the infrastructure where the
operation is to be done; the shop hours are the total time that the store is open or simply the
operating time; and the preparation processes will be the tasks given to the manpower employed.
After the operation of the business, the products will undergo to marketing and sales. Here is
where the promotion of the products of “Sip and Slice” will come into place through social
media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, direct emails, and advertisements in
newspaper and flyers which will reach the target customers. The customers will be the one to
purchase the pancakes, sandwiches, and shakes offered and will give revenue to the business.
The total revenue of the enterprise will be approximately P2.2M diminished by the total
expenses of the business with the sum of P1.6M which left P600,000 as a profit to be used again
as the capital to operate next. Also with this, the manpower’s salary is being distributed.
As seen in the figure above, the business will be a continuous cycle of money and effort.
When established, “Sip and Slice” will be anticipated to make service and money out of the
business consecutively for it to grow and succeed in the future.

sari sari stores interacted in the distribution channel. The retailer can buy many different

Macro-Environmental Factors
Social Environment
In a recent personal concern survey conducted by Pulse Asia last January 2017, it is then
stated that what most Filipinos are highly concerned with is to “stay healthy and avoid illnesses”.
Staying healthy garnered an overall of 63-percent rating on the concern survey conducted
December 6-11 last year. (Inquirer, 2017) “Sip and Slice” will also operate for the same reason
of providing healthy quality delights for the health-conscious citizens in the city.
In the 21st century, people tend to believe that eating wheat instead of rice helps
effectively in weight loss. It is then published in a blog by Elizabeth Ward, an American writer
and nutrition consultant, that in one study, people on a lower-calorie diet that included whole
grains, such as whole wheat bread, lost more belly fat than those who ate only refined grains,
such as white rice. With these, “Sip and Slice” customers will not just have a finger-licking meal
experience but also have their way to healthy diet started.
Also, people at this times have a tendency of choosing an eating and chilling space
accessible and hassle-free for them. They choose the ones that will not be time- and fare-
consuming. Good thing “Sip and Slice” can be found nearby the city proper where a public
utility jeep pass by at the very front. It is also walking distance from various schools, workplace,
and commercial buildings Batangueños frequently visit in a day-to-day basis.
Political Environment
1. Food Safety Act of 2013- Politically cited as Republic Act No. 10611, it authorizes
Department of Health, the executive department of the Philippines on health, to guarantee the
safety of all food processing and product packaging activities, and to issue a legalized license
and certificate of registration that will enclosed the production and product facilities under
Section 18 and 28.
2. FDA Act of 2009 (Republic Act No. 9711)- This rule forbids manufacture, importation,
exportation, sale offering, distribution, transfer, or retail by any natural or juridical person
without the license to operate from the Food and Drug Administration being a descendant agency
of DOH to license and monitor the food industry in the country.
3. Code on Sanitation of the Philippines- otherwise known as Presidential Decree No. 856, it
commands all food establishment personnel to bear a Health Certificate issued by a local health
authority to ensure a clean and hygienic food service to the Filipino people.
Technological Environment
Technology has never been missed in any time or place in the business industry today. It
is actually not even surprising knowing that technology became one of the substantial business’
foundations as this industry is leaning towards technology more and more every day.
From business planning, “Sip and Slice” team consulted the internet upon searching for
informational and conceptual ideas to acquire the essence of the enterprise embarking another
step ahead towards their competitors. Promotion and commercialization through this is also
greatly effective as consumers likely to visit social media accounts more than responding to
actual invitations. In terms of operation, new technological discoveries unfold “Sip and Slice’”
quality offering as all the major and minor machines to be used for production apply technology,
making the customers welcome well-produced delights. Moreover, all the necessary accounting
and finance system are to be done with computers to have systematic organization of records to
further aid service in a satisfying way, making the customers prioritize the business rather than
the competing enterprises. Up to edge safety, technology is a huge help on securing the
entrepreneur’s ideas away from the competition.
These are just some of the major contributions technology can gather for an enterprise to
succeed. Being in a time where technology is at peak, “Sip and Slice” will be prepared of the
metamorphosis that new scientific and technological discoveries render, as they believe that
creditably adapting to changes will make “Sip and Slice” the number one comfort food hub in
the city.
