It is an achievement test

The time for doing the test is 2 hours (7.30 to 9.30)

D. For whom? What level? Please attach the suitable KDs.

The test is for 9th grade of Junior High School students

The number of items is 40 and the number of texts is 14

G. Test format (Objective or subjective + details)

The test is on objective format. It used multiple-choice, since it covers many topics
and basic competences from the different level of class

H. Additional info, if any. E.g. the test is completed with pictures, etc.
The test is supported with clear instruction and clear question separator. The test is
also has pictures in some questions.

II. Critical Evaluation

A. Face validity
The test is good on face validity in term of non-questions aspects. The cover tells
much important and specific information about the test. It has title which indicates
what kind of test it is. It also mentions what curriculum it bases on. The date and
time also stated there. The instruction and question separator are good. However,
when it comes to the test items, reading is the dominant skill that is being assessed.
This can be proven by looking at the quantity of the text provided in the test.

B. Suitability of the test type and the content coverage (Content validity)
This test is good on content validity. The contents are match with the basic
competences in the curriculum. The basic competences are also vary from different
class level, since the test is supposed to measure the English Competence of 9
graders, who will about to graduate. This can be proven by looking at Content
Specification in I F

C. Suitability of the allotted time and the approximate time to do the test
The time given for the students to do the test is suitable enough, it takes 120
minutes to do 40 multiple choice question, and the approximate time to do 1
question is 3 minutes. However, we think 3 minutes for 1 multiple choice question is
more than enough for junior high school students.

D. Suitability of the test format and the purpose of the test

The test format suits well with the purpose of the test. multiple-choice can cover
enormous of topic like USBN which contains a lot of basic competence in different
class level. However for test that supposed to measure English Competence, reading
still dominating test. It is better to add other skill like listening.

E. Any other aspects to criticize or comment on, if any

The test in term of test item has many things to be revised. Some questions are too
easy and there is one question that no students are able to answer. Some distractors
are not working effectively. Some of them even have 0% percentage.

F. Item analysis (If multiple choice: Item facility, item discrimination, and distractor
analysis)
- Item facility:
G. Conclusions (The test is good or should be dropped/revised + reasons + proofs)
and/or suggestions
