OK - I am sure Ian and Richard will be able to deal with this. Let me know when they come
back to you.

Adam,

That is a mistake - I was put in contact with the local officer. I know Matthew Lane has left
the council now.

Dear Adam,

I have the emails of them all but I am awaiting the results of a bit of research they are doing
before pestering further. It was Richard Bradbury and Ian Dudding that I met with, and I was
given the email of Matthew Lane also.

Dear Owen

Probably best to go through street environment as they’ll be able to link you up to the right
people. But do you have the name of the person you met? Was it Matthew Lane?

Dear Adam,

I'll look for a surgery to attend to talk about the issue.

Are there any links to documents etc that I can peruse regarding Euston Road? I sent an
email to the Mayor about it yesterday for what it's worth. It's good to hear about the
closure around Brunswick Square, which I saw a while ago but I thought had been forgotten
about.

When I talked to the Street Environment Team, they mentioned how we could start
adopting tree pits around here and generally greening the space, involving residents and the
school. I have been trying to find a contact for relevant people e.g. the 'Green Spaces Team'
or 'Parks Team' etc - do you know of any emails?

Best regards,
Owen

Dear Owen
Thank you for your email and good to hear you met with the street environment team.

On the noise issue, that sounds like something the environmental health team and
Camden's housing department could look into, probably the latter in the first instance as
it could be a breach of the tenancy if it's a council flat. I'd advise you engage your ward cllrs
on that as they'll be best placed to advise. I'd recommend going to a surgery if you're able to.

On the second we have longer-term ambitions to reduce traffic on the Euston Road although
this is of course complicated and needs the involvement of Tfl and others. If you'd like to add
your name to any emerging plans on that then that would be great. We're also shortly going
to start building out Brunswick Sq, closing its southwest corner to traffic and putting some
new cycle infrastructure in, which should also help in this regard.

I also want to campaign for the various nom electrified lines coming in to KX and Euston to
be electrified but will have to come back with more on that too as we're still researching the
exact asks we want to make there.

Subject: Noise Problem

Dear Adam Harrison,

I am sorry to be such a nuisance lately but there are a number of environmental issues in
Kings Cross and I don't know who to contact except for you.
Regarding the littering problems, I met with a couple of officers a couple of days ago and I
am hopeful that we can work towards a long term solution to those problems here.

Firstly:
There is a flat on Hastings Street in Hastings House that almost every day plays extremely
loud music. Last summer, he would play it all day. to give an indication of noise levels, we
could hear it within our flat, down the road, with our windows and shutters closed, whilst
playing our own music. We didn't know about environmental services then, but I think
someone else did, and at some point he stopped playing music excessively.
Instead he now blasts very loud music with windows open for periods of half an hour and
then stops for hours (revenge?). I imagine he knows that this way it is hard to prove that the
music is from his flat. We know exactly the windows of his flat. Yesterday I managed to get
into Hastings House and managed to almost certainly pin down his number as 19. He
refused to answer the door when I knocked and the music ceased. It also smelt very strongly
of cannabis outside his door.
Is there anything at all that can be done? I am going to get in contact with the residents'
association there, but what can they do either? Every time there is noise I call the housing
patrol officers, but they always arrive too late.
Secondly:
I have been in contact with various people about possibilities to reduce air pollution around
our area. I read the Camden Clean Air Action Plan and noted that our area is identified as
being one of the most affected. It is also home to a large primary school. I know that Judd
Street was recently closed to traffic from Euston Road and I think this is a great step in the
right direction. Is there anything else in the works, like a green barrier or traffic mitigation
etc? I have contacted Healthy Streets for Schools as well to see what they can do around
here. Of course I am concerned about my personal health but also particularly the children
need some consideration here.
I have contacted various people that I think might help but of course you know the Council
better than I so you may know the right people to get involved with that, or perhaps there
are already plans that I don't know of.

Thank you for your time,

Owen Ward
