Main TASK

 Differentiate plant and animal cells according to presence or absence of certain

organelles

SUBTASK

 Describe the plant & animal cell, give its differences and similarities according to
its organelles

 How are they related? How they differ?

Let’s find out……

 What's up! Have you read their conversation? Can you identify the organelles
of plant and animal cell?

Activity No. 1
Know Me !

Direction: Complete the Table 1 below. List

down the organelles of the plant and animal cell

Well done!
Now, that you already identify its organelles. Can you point out their
differences and similarities?

ACTIVITY2. Comparing the Plant cell and Animal Cell

 Have you identified already the organelles of the plant and animal cell.
Can you give now their differences and similarities?

Direction: Using the Venn diagram, identify the differences and similarities
of plant and animal cell

PLANT CELL AND ANIMAL CELL

Most living things are divided into two. Do you know what are they? These are the
plants and animals. Both plant and animals are made up of cells. All animal cells are
surrounded by cell membrane and do not have a cell wall. Furthermore, the components of
animal cells are centrioles, cilia and flagella, endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus,
lysosomes, microfilaments, microtubules, mitochondria, nucleus, plasma membrane and
ribosomes .

Plant cell are membrane bound organelles. They are surrounded by a rigid cell wall.
Plant cells are similar to animal cells they have similar cell organelles. Generally, plant
cells are larger than animal cells and are mostly similar in size and are rectangular or cube
shaped. Plant cell contains a few distinctive features like a cell wall, large vacuole and
plastids.
