SOP FOR CEP PUMP

PURPOSE: This procedure is used as work instruction for Condensate Extraction Pump.

SCOPE: This procedure is applicable to Condensate Extraction Pump located in STPP 2X600 MW.

RESPONSIBILITY: TG Fiels Engineer, Desk/Field Engineer, Unit control engineer and Shift In charge.

PROCEDURE DETAILS:

Before Starting:

1) NO PTW in pending.
2) Hotwell drain MIV should be closed condition.
3) Ensure Hotwell level >100 mm.
4) CEP Suction valve should be open.
5) Ensure drain & vent MIV should be close of pump suction strainer.
6) If CPU is not in service, ensure by pass v/v is 100% open condition.
7) Open MIV of canister vent valve.
8) Oil level in Thrust bearing should be normal.
9) Ensure at least one TG ECW pump is running.
10) Open the inlet & outlet valves of DMCW line to thrust bearing.
11) Open the GSC inlet & outlet valves (CDV-16 & CDV-18) and GSC bypass valve (CDV-17) is closed.
12) Open inlet & outlet MOV of drain cooler& LP heater-1,2&3
13) Open the isolation valves of short & long recirculation line .
14) Open the isolation valves of Excess Return line to CST (CDV-42, 44).
15) Open the isolation valves of Emergency make up to Hotwell .
16) Open the isolation valves of Normal make up to Hotwell .
17) Open the isolation valves of CDV-21, 23 and CDV-24, 26(Deaerator level control).
18) Open the any one CEP short recirculation CV from DCS (CDV-10,CDV-12, CDV-14) is 50 %
19) Close the CEP long recirculation CV from DCS (CDV-39,CDV-41)
20) Open the isolation valves of vent line (CEP discharge)
21) Charge all the local pressure gauges/transmitters/switches/level gauges.
22) Hot-well level gauges should be Normal.
23) CFP breaker should be in normalized & remote.
24) All condensate line MOV & pump discharge supply healthy condition & Remote.
25) All other permissive should be available at DCS.
26) All CEP protection & interlock should be through.
27) LPBP spray station should be normal.
28) LP Turbine exhaust hood spray should be closed.
29) Local Push Button be released

Starting of CEP:

1) Start the CEP and Ensure discharge valve IBV is opening in AUTO.
2) After full open of IBV, discharge valve will full OPEN in Auto.
3) Ensure bearing temp & vibration are within the permissible range.
4) Close all vent of condensate line

Isolation of CEP:

1) STOP the CEP and ensure discharge valve is closed in AUTO.

2) Isolate the CEP breaker.
3) Close the Canister Vent.
4) Close the Discharge Vent MIV.
5) Close the Suction relief valve MIV.
6) Close the Suction Valve.
7) Open the suction strainer vent & check vacuum. Ensure that there should not be air sucking.
8) Clearance for Strainer Cleaning.
