I. GENERAL
The Sardar Raja College of Engineering (SRCE) came in to existence in the year 2000 by the
side of Tenkasi - Tirunelveli Highway on a Sprawling Campus of more than 75 acres under the
leadership of a great Educational Visionary Sardar Dr.S.A.Raja, Founder Chairman of Rajas colleges.
Er.A.Jesus Raja, Chairman of Jesus Group of Organization is the Chairman of our college. The
college has been progressing well under his dynamic leadership. Under his Chairmanship, SRCE has
briskly and bravely crossed many miles and has achieved a lot in these 14 years.
The college was started with three UG courses in engineering disciplines namely Mechanical
Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Two
more UG courses, Civil Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering were started in the year
2002 and 2006 respectively. Three PG courses M.E - Applied Electronics, M.E - Computer Science &
Engineering and MCA were started in the year 2009. Another two PG courses M.E - Structural
Engineering and M.E - Power Systems Engineering were started in the year 2010. M.E - Manufacturing
Engineering was started in the year 2011 and two more PG courses M.E - Communication &
Networking and M.E - VLSI Design and also an increase in intake in B.E - Mechanical Engineering
were started in the year 2012. As on today, the college has 1329 students in its roll.
II. LIBRARY
The college has well-stacked library named as Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Library with more than
36,000 volumes of books on various engineering disciplines and humanities & science. Our library has
continuous subscription to Del-net membership since 2003 and for that high configuration systems were
allotted. Also we are subscribing to IEEE journals. Now the library has been changed as e-library and it
is functioning 12 x 7.

XXIII. YOUTH RED CROSS SOCIETY
The YRC wing of SRCE conducted a one day Blood Group Identification and Blood Donation
awareness programme in the month of February 2014. Around 200 YRC volunteers from SRCE had
participated in this programme.
Also we collected Rs.5 from each student as fund in order to serve the blind people. The total
amount of Rs. 5015 was sent to the Indian Association for the Blind (IAB), Madurai.
The coordinator for NSS, RRC & YRC is Prof.M.Kader Mohaideen, AP/Chemistry. Various
programs were organized and students participated in many competitions through NSS, RRC & YRC
and are listed below:
XXIV. SPORTS
SRCE is well aware of the need to nurture an environment in which every student including the
physically challenged can also have an opportunity to realize his or her full sporting potential. Towards
that we are conducting Annual Sports meet every year by arranging a number of competitive events.
17/19
The students were divided into different houses such as SPARTANS, GLADIATORS, DRAVIDIANS
and SAMURAIS, to participate in various events.SRCE also has Cricket ground, Football ground,
Hockey ground, Basketball court, Volley Ball court, Badminton court, etc.
SRCE has a well-staked multi-play Gym of international standard. Our students frequently use
this Gym to tone and maintain their physical fitness.
