2019 Year 5 Term 3 course will be commencing on Saturday, 20 th July. The Term

The course allows students to practise exam style questions under the same test conditions. By sitting for
Pre-Uni New College Selective Trial Tests, students will systematically revise the entire course and be
confidently prepared for the actual test in March next year.
Students attempt the trial test papers every week (General ability & Maths tests in one week, Reading,
Vocabulary & Writing tests in another week). The test reports provide with the information of their marks,
the areas of their strength and weakness for further improvements.
The STTC will help students manage their test time efficiently, minimise errors, overcome exam nerves and
perform at their optimum level under exam conditions. This excellent course brings us an outstanding
success rate in the selective high school placement tests every year.

Essay Writing Course (Friday)

Year 5 Essay Writing Course will support students’ development of technical and
essay writing skills. It will cover areas including grammar, spelling and punctuation
that pertain to specific text types as is required in the student’s current English
Curriculum.
The aim of this course is to target students’ individual needs in writing so they can
become more confident, capable and proficient writers. It will assist students with
their individual performance in all written tasks in the classroom as well as
formalised tests such as the selective high school placement test and independent
school scholarship tests.
