Advanced Visual Arts is designed for EMAIL: goddarj@pitt.k12.nc.us
students to showcase and explore the skills they
have developed through the DHC art curriculum.
The course emphasizes the continuation of
foundations and expands on materials and

concepts. It is aligned to the North Carolina
Essential Standards for Visual Arts at the *Be on time

Phones are not for texting, calls, videos, etc. (If the student can not follow cell phone policy
their phone will be sent to the office for pick up after class. In case of emergencies please
call the school. )
No food or drink allowed in the classroom without a doctor’s note.

Sketchbook:
Each student will receive sketchbook assignments, visual journal assignments and
should take notes from lectures and text assignments. Any assignment that is not completed
in class will become homework. (Canvas or DHC Visual Arts Website)

Required Supplies:
1. Sketchbook (9x12 Spiral) 4. Pack of Brushes
2. #2 pencils and Sharpener 5. Color Pencils
3. Fine Black Sharpies/Markers 6. Paper as needed
STUDENTS NEED TO LABEL EVERYTHING THEY BRING TO CLASS
SUGGESTED ITEMS: A variety of materials may be suggested dependent on
individual projects.
Teachers always dream of additional supplies to enrich our students’
experience. Our current wish list of donated items includes:

*Magazines *Kleenex
*Paint brushes *Hand Sanitizer

*Flat Files (dreaming big)
*Almost any odds and ends, including containers with lids
