1. Learning Objectives :
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
1.1 read words with double letters cl, fl, gl, pl, bl and sl
correctly
1.2 decode new words and say the correct pronunciation
2. Learning Experiences :
2.1 Preparatory Activities:
2.1.1 Review of the past lessons:
a. Practice greeting politely and remind the
students about the classroom rules.
b. Recite the English alphabet and its sounds.
c. Count numbers 1-100.
d. Recite the months of the year and days in a
week.
e. Brief review of the previous topic.
2.1.2 Motivation:
a. Sing some action songs.
2.2 Teaching Methods and Strategies:
2.2.1 Lesson Proper:
a. Write letters cl, fl, gl, pl, bl and sl on the board.
b. Say the sound of each double letter and let the
students repeat after you.
c. Write and read words beginning with cl, fl, gl, pl, bl
and sl (like clock, flower, glass, plant and blue).
d. Show flashcards of clap, flag, glide, plane, black
and slide. Underline cl, fl, gl, pl, bl and sl, put
emphasis on the sound of the letters as you read the
words.
e. Continue to show and name pictures with double
letters cl, fl, gl, pl, bl and sl.
e. Game: Form small groups and give five flashcards
to each group. Then, instruct students to name each
flashcard correctly.
2.3 Answer the book.
3. Evaluation:
3.1 Checking of book (writing, spelling and reading).
3.2 Let the students read and pronounce words with
double letters cl, fl, gl, pl, bl and sl correctly.
