Living in City or Village

Many people like to live in a city although it is often very crowded. There are many
jobs available. Therefore, it is easier to plan for a living. There are also more opportunities
for education and recreation. If people are sick, there is always a hospital or a clinic
nearby. There are markets, supermakets or department stores that people can choose to go
shopping. In addition, all means of transportation are available. People can go by bus, taxi,
train or plane. For these reasons people prefer living in a city to a village.
 Some other people prefer living in a village to a city. A village is not very crowded and
noisy. People do not have to rush to work. They may to whatever they want. They do not
have to go to school for a long period of time. They go to Elementary School just to be
able to read and write. This is enough for them to survive. They so not care much about
time. Today and tomorrow are just the same for them. Living naturally like this is
enjoyable for them.
However, not every villager enjoys the naural life. Some of them find that rural life is
quite backward. They want to improve their lives. They move to big cities to start the new
life. Of course, some of them are successful, but many of them are not. For those who are
not successful living in a big city like Jakarta is really terrible. They are jobless and
homeless because they do not have skills needed in urban areas. They live in the slums of
the city.

The Advantage and Disadvantage of Nuclear Power

Nuclear power is generated by using uranium which is a metal mined in varius part
of the world. The first large scale of nuclear power station was opened at Calder Hall in
Cumbria, England in 1956.
Some military ships and submarines have nuclear power plant for angine. Nuclear
power produces around 11% of the world’s energy needed, and produces huge amounts of
energy. It couse no pollution as we would get when burning fossil fuels. The advantages of
nuclear plant are as follow:
 It costs about the same coal, so it is not expansive to make.
 It does not produce smoker or carbon dioxide, so it does not contribute to the
greenhouse effect.
 It produces huge amounts of energy from small amount of uranium
 It produces small amount of waste
 It is reliable.
On the other hand, nuclear power is very, very dangerous. It must be sealed up and
buried for many years to allow the radioctivity to die away. Furthermore, although it is
reliable, a lot of money has to be spent on safety bacause if it does go wrong, a nuclear
accident ca be a major accident.
People are increasinglybconcerned about this matter. In the 1990’s nuclear power was
the fastest growing source of power in many parts of the world.

Get Married

Illustrating the current situation happening in Indonesia, Get Married presents the
figures of unemployment. A few big-name celebrites show up in cameo roles. The movie
tells about a true frienship of four youngsters Mae (Nirina Zubir), Guntoro (Desta ‘Club
Eighties’), Eman (Amin), dan Beni (Ringgo Agus Rahman) who judge themselves as the
most frustrated people in Indonesia. Soon they turn out to be street kids and spend most of

 Suddenly, it comes to a moment when Mae is persuaded to grant her parents’ wish to
have a grandchild. Mae’s parents. (Meriam Bellina dan Jaja Mihardja) firmly state that
Mae must get married in a little while. Soon, they are busy finding candidates who would
marry their only daughter. However, along the process of finding the right one for Mae, the
three male frinds of Mae turn out to be brutal evaluators for the candidates. In the mean
time, Mae fall badly in love with Rendy (Richard Kevin), a rich, handsome and kind-
hearted man. Unfortunately Rendy, Mae, Guntoro, Eman, Beni are brought into a
misunderstanding, and soon fights break out between the two groups of Mae and Rendy.
Written based on some of youngsters’ real-life brotherhood experiences-this story will
stir you to your emotional core while bringing out your sense of brotherhood.
There are a lot of little things and big things that make this movie worth watching. The
story is good, the banter is great, the relationships between the characters are great, and it’s
a fun time at the movies. While some of the jokes are amusing, some of the fights go on a
few bit too long.
