RELATED?
Philosophy enables us to think in a multi-dimensional way wherein we look at the entirely of
any situations thus we make better understanding of our surroundings including ourselves.
Being a holistic thinker enable us to wonder, doubt, seek and gain experiences, hence we
philosophize to gain knowledge and understanding of something. Being able to philosophize is
when we can reflect to situations that enable us to have better decisions to make hence it
helps us improve the quality of living.
Philosophizing is utilized to make our understanding of reality better, hence the truth and
reality are always associated with philosophy as it deals with real life situations. Philosophy
is always concerned of determining the truth as we seek for wisdom and better understanding
of something. Philosophizing enables us to take up the right actions as we gain better
knowledge and understandings of situations as well as to our surroundings. Since
philosophizing is associated and interrelated with reality and the truth it is very important for
us to learn how to distinguish facts from opinions as it enables us to know what to believe and
what to consider. As we philosophize, it is very important for us what to consider several
factors when looking at an argument as some arguments may contain fallacies which may not
be useful in gaining knowledge, in this manner we may be able to philosophize without risking
the truth and reality.
Being capable of doing even the most complicated things, we consider our species far more
superior that any other living organisms in this planet. In a large sense we identify that the
human person has distinct characteristics that enables him/her to have significant
advantages towards other beings. A human person has an embodied spirit which is associated
with the physical body that determines how a person interact with his/her environment. A
human person is self-aware of what is happening to his/her surroundings hence he/she
knows what to do to address these, he/she is also self-determined to accomplish his/her
objectives which explains why philosophizing never stops until the human person is satisfied
with his/her findings. Another major characteristic of a human person is that he/she has
dignity that makes him/her unique from other beings, dignity enables the human person to
seek for righteousness to gain respect of others; a person who does not have dignity or does
not recognize dignity of others people are more likely to disrespect him/her. The best thing
of being a human person is that transcendence is possible to happen, this enables us to
overcome our limits and be better versions of ourselves. We are indeed unique and far more
superior from other beings, but this does not mean that we need to use these advantages only
for ourselves, it only means that we have a greater responsibility to do.
Humans are natural beings hence we need nature to survive, it is because of our never ending
needs and wants that we use our natural resources to sustain these however we have become
too abusive and irresponsible in using our natural resources hence we now face several
problems pertaining the shortage of natural resources even environmental issues that can
threaten our very existence. Our activities have long affected our environment, it may be in a
positive way but mostly in a negative way. It is important to understand that nature can exist
without us but we cannot exist without nature hence we need to do actions to address the
ever-growing environmental dilemma, being an environmentalist and doing the simplest act
of caring towards the environment will contribute major changes and can even solve the
problem itself.
