Counting Bank Notes

1. Switch on the machine.

*“0” will be displayed on the Counted Number Display and
“100” will be displayed on the Batch Display.

2. Check the double note detection level and set it if necessary.

* By pressing the Double Note Detection Level Key, set a
proper threshold for double note detection according to the
degree of stain/printing darkness of notes to be counted.
* Every press of this key will change the position of the Level-
lamp.
For notes which are stained or printed dark, set the Level-
lamp to the position “   ”. For notes which are new
or printed light, set the lamp to the position “    ”.
* When the lamp of the machine is set to the AUTO position, a
proper threshold is set automatically.

Note:
When dirty notes are mixed, do not use the AUTO position as
there is a possibility that the detection function does not work
correctly.
Please set notes at the center of the Hopper. If they are
laterally shifted to the right or left greatly, there is a possibility
that correct detection cannot be assured.

5
Counting Bank Notes

3. Check the Addition Lamp and activate the ADD function.

* To add counted numbers one after another, press the

ADD Key to activate the ADD function making the
addition Lamp lit.

4. Set the optional batch number.

* Set the batch number by pressing the BATCH Key.

Every time this key is pressed, one of the preset values
“10”, “20”, “25”, “50”, “100” or “(infinity)” will be displayed
by rotation on the Batch Number Display. Counting
operation will stop when the counting number reaches
the set batch number.

* In case a“infinity”is selected on the Batch Number

Display, the machine will count up all notes placed in the
Hopper without interruption.

* Any optional batch number (1−999) other than the

preset values can be set by pressing the Ten Keys Pad.

started from “0” on the Counting Number Display.
When counting operation is started in the ADD
function, the counted numbers for succeeding
bundles of notes will be added and displayed.

8
Different Denomination Detection Function
⇒ Through this function the size of the first counted note is memorized and if a note whose size is different from the
memorized value is detected, the machine will stop. (While the GFB800 series machines detect size difference
widthwise, the GFB900 series detect size difference both widthwise and lengthwise.)

Setting of DD detection function

1. Press the DD key to set to the “DD detection function”

☆DD Lamp will be lit.
NOTE:
Difference between note sizes of different denominations is
detected by checking the width of each note to be counted.
The machine is set up so that it can detect notes of different
denomination when the size difference is 5mm or more.

2. When the machine stops after detecting a different

denomination note, remove the detected note
from the Stacker and press the RESTART KEY to
resume counting.

9
Different Denomination Detection Function

NOTE:

①Notes of other denominations are detected by difference in size between various denominations by
checking the width of each note to be counted. The machine is set at the time of shipment from factory
so that it can detect the size difference 5 mm or more.
This limit of 5 mm can be reduced to 3 mm, if necessary, by contacting a Glory representative for this
modification.

②One/two is subtracted from the counted number when “dd” / “dd2” is displayed on the Batch Number
Display respectively. It is also possible to set a mode to subtract nothing from the displayed number.

③If this function is activated while the counting speed 1800 notes/min is selected, the counting speed will
be automatically changed to 1500 notes/min.

10
Counterfeit note detection function
⇒ This function makes the machine stop when it detects a suspicious note.

Activating the CF (counterfeit note) detection function

Then “CF SET” is displayed on the display.

Pressing the detection method selection key on the ten-key pad while
“CF SET” is displayed makes the corresponding detection method
effective and the corresponding LED light up.

2. When the machine stops through this function, remove the detected
note from the Stacker and recount all the other notes in the Stacker.

3.Deactivating the function

Pressing the detection method selection key on the ten-key pad again
while “CF SET” is displayed makes the corresponding detection
method ineffective and the corresponding LED go out.
Pressing the CF key again while “CF SET” is displayed makes all the

Counterfeit note detection function
Notes: The following are applicable to all the counterfeit note detection function modes (AUTO, US and EU) in the
subsequent pages.

①If the counterfeit note detection function at the speed 1500 notes/min or 500 notes/min is not
satisfactory, count notes at the speed 1000 notes/min.

②If the counterfeit note detection function is activated while the counting speed 1800 notes/min is
selected, the counting speed will be automatically changed to 1500 notes/min.

12
Counterfeit note detection function (CF AUTO MODE)
⇒ This function automatically sets the detection method by investigating the
characteristics of the first counted note. The subsequent notes from the
second note will be checked by this detection method.
When notes to be counted have different characteristics, it is not necessary
to change the setting.
(Applicable only to GFB-830, 832, 841,850, 932, 937, 941, 946, 955 and 956)
