Goals

Using the AACTx, set up and solve a vibro-acoustic modal analysis of a

water tank.
Problem statement:
• The model consists of a tank structure filled with water,
• Our goal is to calculate the sloshing modes of the system.

6. Select Contacts folder underneath the Connections object in the tree:
You can see that 4 contact regions are predefined. These bonded contacts
are used to connect the beam truss extremities and the water tank.

13. Define an acceleration:
a. Select “Acceleration (Modal)” from the Acoustics toolbar.
b. Select the “Acceleration ” object created in the tree and define acceleration components:
• X Component = 0 m.s-2
• Y Component = 9.81 m.s-2
• Z Component = 0 m.s-2

a.

Note: we use the acceleration object of the Acoustics toolbar because the standard acceleration of
the Environment toolbar can not be inserted in modal analyses.
