BRAIN VS MEMORY

BRAIN

BY GOOGLE IMAGE

 Manage hundred of data every seconds.

 Transmit Data messages with the speed up to 250km/h
 In a state of consciousness, our brain can produce 25W of power
 Our Brain have 100,000,000 cells
 The right Brain capacity is 100 times than the left Brain
 Some people only use 3% of their Brain capabilities
MEMORY

BY GOOGLE IMAGE

 Individual ability to store, maintain & remember information and

experience
 Part which the mind stores and remembers information

ACTIVITY 6: ANSWERING QUESTION

MEMORY AND LEARNING

THE STORAGE ( RETAINING INFORMATION)

1. SENSORY MEMORY (SM): An information that comes from our senses. If we pay attention it
will go to short-term memory (STM) but if we do not pay attention, the information will be lost.

2. SHORT-TERM MEMORY (STM): A very limited information stored here. In order to make it a
Long-Term Memory, We must repeat or rehearse it or it will be forgotten.

3. LONG-TERM MEMORY (LTM): An unlimited and large storage of information. If the

information were not used for a long time our brain will start to forget it.

ACTIVITY 7: CLOSE YOUR EYES

RECALL GAME
HOW TO IMPROVE OUR MEMORIES
 Give your brain a workout

 Don’t skip the physical exercise

 Keep Stress In Check

 Make Time for Meditation

 Get Enough Sleep

STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE CONCENTRATION

Causes of Poor Concentration:
 Lack of Interest, Motivation, Attention
 Distractions from Others

ACTIVITY 11: CALCULATING CGPA
1. Calculate the GPA for Amelia Ameer for her firts semester.

2. Calculate what would have happened if Amelia had earned a B in Chemistry.

(3 x 3.33) + (4 x 3.00) + ( 1 x 4.00) + ( 3 x 1.67) + (3 x 4.00) + (3 x 3.00) = 3.06

17

3. What is the difference in GPA?

3.06 - 2.75 = 0.31

4. Now calculate Amelia GPA for the next semester.

5. What would happen if Amelia had received a D in Cell Bio instead of the B+?

- (4 x 1.00) + ( 4 x 3.00) + (4 x 2.00) + (3 x 2.00) + (3 x 3.67) = 2.28

18

6. What is the difference in GPA?

- 2.80 - 2.28 = 0.52

7. What is the difference CGPA?

- 2.77 - 2.74 = 0.03

8. What does Amelia have to do in order to achieve a GPA of 3.00 in the 2nd semester if her CGPA fails below 2.50 in
the 1st semester?
-Amelia has to score at least B in Intro Physics 1 and Writting in Biology. So her GPA for 2nd semester will be
3.00 and above.
