My First Inspiration

The theme of this poem is love, specifically love for Dr. Rizal’s Mother, Teodora
Realonda. Dr. Rizal writes about how inspired he is to be able to write again, especially
that it is his mother’s birthday. He expresses his love for his mother and at the same
time shows appreciation for the environment. In this poem, Rizal showcases his literary
brilliance by taking the reader's senses in a mirage of tantalizing episodes by making
use of certain triggers to the sense of sight and the sense of hearing.

Sa Aking mga Kabata

The theme of the poem is basically the love for one's language. The reason on
why it was written in deep and fruitful verses was that he dedicated this to her mother
on her birthday expressing his feelings of affection. Knowing that his poem emphasizes
his strong sense of nationalism expressing Rizal’s love for our own language, filipino.
Rizal also highlighted on this poem that all languages were equal in terms of its
significance and usage, the way we express our feelings through our own language,
and being proud of our nationality and identity through the values and attitudes that are
relevant today.Through this we could show our sense of pride as Filipinos.

The Intimate Alliance between Religion and Education

The theme of this poem is about the importance of education and religion and
this can be represented like a tree and ground working together to create a new seed.
Rizal points out that one does not stand firmly if the other is not present. Religion is

pictured as the elm tree while education is the ivy. It means that religion refined and
purified what education reveals. Religion limits the education's scope and if ever religion
stopped limiting education, education would be pointless. Education and religion is an
alliance that cannot be separated. People with education without religion are likely to be
drowned in greediness.

If we only realize how uncertain life would be without each other's alliance, light
will then show the unclear path taken by the other. That this light would be an aid in
seeing the possibility of gaining the loss foresight. That as long as education plays its
role as would be done by religion. Value and virtues plus education together as a whole
quantity.

Through Education Our Motherhood Receives Light

This poem proved that he valued education so much that may give the power of
the country to survive from any forces (barbaric actions, deceits, hostility, vices and etc.)
in the struggles of societal freedom. Through education, it creates the virtue of power to
human race. This gives security and peace to the motherland as the Filipinos would
learn the sciences and arts as the basis to calm down the life of the society. Where
education reigns pacifies the barbaric action of the nations .It may neutralized or ceased
to exist on crimes and hostility including vices and deceits because of the enlightenment
of mankind. The existence of prudent education provides the tranquility to a more
dignified action just the existence on the natural flow of life . Education shall give a
perfect virtue of man that may overthrow the power of evils and may step on heavenly
path for its good action. Likewise, education provides goodness to humanity it sheds
light for those who created destruction even from the hands of fiercest criminal.
Furthermore, education may always survive even from the worst storm, hatred of men,
and raging waves as a consequence the motherland becomes invincible to evil forces
shall be tired and fall asleep in their raging emotions.

This poem of Rizal had never thought that was applied to him heroic struggles in
his later years of life. The struggle of human freedom was won because education
provided the key role for thousands of men who honored him. His education provided
him the noble virtue that someday his country was free from the bondage of foreign
oppressors. In contemporary times, education proves to be a key role to produce of
noblemen that shades light for his family and country.

Fair hope of my motherland - Metaphor

May their virgin mind fly & find more rapidly than the wind - personification/hyperbole

explanation:
Fair hope of my Motherland - This line is implicated to the youth. It explains that the
youth is the representation of hope for the next generation of our land. It also implicates
that each person (youth) has potential and is equal.

May their virgin mind fly & find more rapidly than the wind - This implicates that the
youth soar high and let their untainted minds lead them in the realization of their fullest
potential
