From a container having x liters of pure spirit replaced with y liters of water, subsequently y liters of mixture is
replaced with y of water & so on…… then the quantity of spirit left in the container after ‘n’ such replacements.

is replaced with 1ltr of water this process is repeated one more time then the quantity of spirit left in the container

more time the ratio of the quantity of mine now left to water is 16:65. Then find capacity of the cask or the
quantity of mine that was bear in cask originally

mixtures be mixed to obtain a new mixture C containing spirit & water in the ratio 8:5
APPLICATION OF ALLIGATION IN PERCENTAGES
1. The population of a town was 20000 if the no of male increases 10% & no of females decreases by 6%. Th/e total
population remained unchanged. The no of females is?
2. In a certain year the population of the town was 9000. If in next year the population of males increases by 5% that
of females by 8% then the population increases to 600 then what was the ratio of males & females in that year?
3. A trader has 120kgs of rice out of which he sells some will be 10% profit and the rest with 25% profit he gains 15%
on the whole. What is quantity of rice sold at 25% profit?
4. A man has 60 pens he sells some of these at a profit of 12% & rest at 8% loss. On the whole he gets a profit of 11%.
How many pens were sold at a process of 12%
5. A man has 40kgs of tea, a part of which he sells it at 5% loss and the rest at CP. In this business he gets a loss of 3%.
Find the quantity he sells at the CP?
