Modern Life

Introduction

In today’s world people realize the importance of English. It


is the most widely spoken native language in the world.
English may not be the most spoken language in the world, but
it is the official language in a large number of countries

As we all know that English is secondary language for us so it is


not very easy to master the language people find it difficult
because of too many rules in grammar and it is hard to
memorize the vocabulary! But no problem will come, if we really
have the will to study and understand it.

English can be learnt by two ways {1} inside the class {2}
outside the class. Learning English language requires good
environment, practicing and motivation. Teachers play a very
important role for studying English to share their valuable
experiences. Classrooms give us a good environment to learn
English as we can communicate with our classmates and check
our knowledge level. In class the competition among the
students motivate the students for studying and practicing
more.

Learning English outside the class room also play a very
important role as we are living in a world in which people don’t
have much time to attend classes to learn English, they can
learn English online at home without spending much fees.
There are many books and courses available online for children
and adults to enhance the reading and writing skills. There are
so many games to improve the vocabulary.

We all know that language is the only way by which we can


express our feelings, emotions thoughts and ideas , and
English is the only language which is spoken and understood
by many countries .It is an international language and is
spoken everywhere..

We live in 21st century and this time is called the time of


developed technology .Many people call is the age of
information. Many changes are coming in society because of new
technology, to know the changes people should have the
knowledge of English.

English is now essential in every organization. English is a


commonly used language and understood by many people. It is
taught to the kids at primary level.

In today’s world English is playing a very important role to


develop the personality of a person. It is used in railway
station, bank, airways, educational sector, medical, Private
sector etc. English is called the language of trade .All
professional should have the good English speaking skills to

How to improve English

1. Language can be learnt by constant usage, every


language needs practice; The more you practice, the more
you learn.

2. As it is said that practice makes a man perfect, so


Practice every day, Develop the four skills: Reading, Writing,
Speaking and Listening.

3. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes .Be confident.

4. Watch English news on TV and learn the correct pronunciation


of words.

5. Make a note book and write all the new words with
meaning and try to use them in your daily life

6. Get a dictionary, to know the meaning of new words.

7. Speak only English.

Then you would become a good Native English speaker.

1. Pollution

Use vehicles, be fitted with catalytic converters. As far as


possible, use public forms of transport.

Minimize the use of pesticides and fertilizers.

impart healthy environment to enable people to prevent water
pollution.

Maintain discipline in your surroundings. It reduces

the noise. I hope you will follow the instructions

I am plastic bag. I am bad to our nature. Always use clothe


bags. Don’t throw me in drainage or trash.

My smoke will deplete our ozone layer. Avoid using me and do


well to our environment. Because,it is your duty to save
nature. Be a good human to serve our nature.

2. Situational talk:

1. You wake up and see that your alarm never went off.
So you are starting your morning 15 minutes later than you
planned. It is a really important day at school and you
cannot be late. What could you do?

2. You came to on the bus to school today and on the way


in people are pointing and laughing at you. You go in the
bathroom and see that you have pink gum all over the back of
your pants. What could you do?

3. You are eating dinner at a fancy restaurant with your


parents and their friends. You have a really messy dinner
and accidentally flip a noodle into the lady's lap. They are
busy talking and don't notice it. What could you do?

4. You are taking a test and there is no talking allowed.


You are writing your answers on the paper and your pencil
breaks. What could you do?

5. After basketball practice you go back to the locker


room with your team to shower and change. When you are
done dressing, you can't find your shoes. What could you do?

you are starving. Finally class gets over and you get to go to
lunch. Except when you go to get to your lunch, it's not
there. You probably left it at home. What could you do?

7. You are giving a group presentation in front of class and


it's your turn to talk. All of the sudden you sneeze. You cover
it with your hand, but now your hand is full of stuff you
sneezed out. What could you do?

8. You borrowed your sister's skates one day without asking


her and you broke while you were using them. What could you
do?

9. You are eating at a friend's house and his or her mom


piles your plate full of food. It looks really good and you want
to eat it all but you can't because you have just eaten a snack.
What could you do so you don't hurt her feelings?

10. You are hanging outside with your friend and she decides
to pick your neighbor's flowers. She gives you the pretty
handful of flowers and right then your neighbor opens the
door. She asks you why you picked her flowers. What could
you do?
