EuroPrime EFC 209

Epoxy Resin Base Low Viscous Primer

For bonding old and new concrete and also

used for repair works, tile works, pile heads,
stone/marble works and screeds. EuroPrime
EFC 209 bonds with almost all building
materials.

Description

EuroPrime EFC 209 is based on solvent-free

epoxy resins. It is supplied as a two-component
material in pre-weighed ready for on-site mixing
and use.

gypsum/silicate board and steel

 Sand and aggregate stabilizer for

architectural purposes

The product is ideal for car parking, roads, bridges,

pavements, loading bays and factories.

For bonding granolithic floor toppings such as

Epoxy floor coatings, sand cement screed, mortars
and epoxy screed.

EuroPrime EFC 209 is equally suitable to internal

and external applications.

Design Criteria
Surface Preparation
EuroPrime EFC 209 is designed with an overlay

Mixing.
The entire contents of the part B hardener should
then be poured into the part A base and the two
materials thoroughly mixed using a suitable slow-
speed drill or mixing paddle for 2 minutes. The
sides of the tin should then be scraped and mixing
should continue for further 2 minutes.
Mixing
Any steel reinforcement and formwork should be
prepared, cut to size and shape, and made ready for
assembly before mixing commences.
Care should be taken to ensure that EuroPrime EFC 209
is thoroughly mixed. The hardener and base
components should be stirred separately before mixing
to disperse any settlement.

Application
EuroPrime EFC 209 should be applied as soon as
the mixing process has been completed. It can be
applied by brush, roller or airless spray to the
prepared surfaces.
Concrete Primer
The new concrete or screed may be applied to the
coated substrate up to 4 hours after application at

20 C, 2 hours at 35 C and 1 hour at 45 C.
However, the coated substrate should be left for
one hour before the new concrete or screed is
placed.
Where EuroPrime EFC 209 is to be used as part of
a repair system to form a substrate/repair barrier,
care should be taken to achieve an unbroken
coating. One coat should be applied and allowed
to set. A second coat should be applied and used
as the bonding coat. In some situations (e.g.
sprayed concrete repairs) it may be advantageous
to scatter dust-free sharp sand over this coat and
leave it to harden.
Notes
The coverage figures for EuroPrime EFC 209 products
are theoretical - due to wastage factors and the variety
and nature of possible substrates, practical coverage
figures will be reduced. EuroPrime EFC 209 fast setting
suitable for cold weather working can be made available
on request.
