an independent software vendor (ISV).

Companies providing commercial software can “create new standalone applications”, “built
extensions to existing applications and integrate with existing data sources”, “modernize existing
applications”, eg, by moving them to the cloud in order to offer additional capabilities, and “connect
people and data across digital touch points” with delightful user experiences by offering apps.

S3: Here as you can see, “Why SAP” in the age of digital disruption, this particular slide is
showing that SAP provides the intelligent technologies, data management capabilities and cloud
platform that allow ISVs to develop state-of-the-art solutions.
• Intelligent suite – which provides application solutions for managing the company
operations and its stakeholders such as SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP C/4HANA, SAP
SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, SAP Concur, SAP Fieldglass, and solutions for digital
supply chain and manufacturing. These applications will include out-of-the-box integration
and will be easy to extend, allowing ISV partners to make the most of their specialized
expertise by building extensions that can be easily offered and sold through the SAP digital
channel, the SAP App Center.
• Digital platform (next generation data management and cloud platform) – which
enables SAP HANA to leverage all its in-memory, relational database capabilities and
associated application and analytical capabilities to power applications, data warehousing,
and data intelligence. SAP Data Hub will orchestrate and provide meta-data management
across all data sources. Finally, our open SAP Cloud Platform will unlock the value of
data by providing APIs to a broad ecosystem of ISV partners and developers.
• Toolbox of intelligent applications, technologies and innovation services – which
allows partners, through SAP Leonardo, to leverage Artificial Intelligence, Machine
Learning, IoT, Advanced Analytics, and Blockchain technologies at the speed of
innovation that’s right for them. These technologies based on SAP’s digital platform can
serve to SW-enable leading-edge use cases in fields like robotics, drones, 3D
impression, biotechnology, wearables, electric autonomous vehicles, or nanotechnology
to create interesting value propositions and results

Customers can no longer afford to spend time and money on complex customizations. They want
fast delivery and “out of the box” functionality—and this is where partners have the edge. SAP is
well equipped to deliver the Intelligent Enterprise framework and key technologies, but because
customers need to use these technologies in a specialized way, that works best for their business,
ISV partners are integral to the process.
