A3S Server

• The A3S Server Stands for Authentication,

Authorization, and Auditing. Authentication
in A3S server is provided in 2 ways .
1. Internet Authentication
2. User authentication
Internet authentication is provider by Squid
proxy server and user authentication is
provided by LDAP server.
With the squid server users will be able to
access the Internet through Proxy, and with
LDAP server, users will be forced to login to
their account , to access the internet.
Proxy Setting
If in case the auto proxy is not
Present, users can manually
Configure it. Just go to Start in
Windows,

Now type,
Configure proxy server

In configure proxy
section go to LAN setting

In LAN setting , tick the
check box under proxy server,
and give address as

Address : 192.168.3.14

Port : 3128
Accessing Internet

As your Setting is
configured in your
system Now you can
access the Internet
Through Proxy Server,

But now, as you go to
your browser and browse
for any thing, you will be
asked to login first.
Assigning the Password to you account

For accessing the Internet, Users will be asked to Login first.

By default the login ID is scholar number for student and
Employee id for Employees.

For Password, Users will be requested to assign a password to
their account .

For assigning password for first time, users will be asked to
provide their login ID and Email address which they have given
at the time of registering in college.

If the email ID does not match users will not be able to set
password for their account
Setting Password for First time

A guest account is provided
for accessing internet so that
users can set their account
password for first Time

Go to manit.ac.in and click
the link

The link will redirect you to
the page for setting the
password .

Give the Login ID and the
Email which you have given
at the time of registration

If the Email id does not
match users can request for
change of Email ID at Server
Room.

If the Login ID and Email ID is
correct , a password setting link
will be mailed to your mail
account .

Click on the link , the link will
redirect you to the page for
setting the password

Provide the password as per
your choice and submit.
 Changing Password

Users can change their
password any time if needed

Visit the Manit website i.e.
manit.ac.in and click the
link

You will get three option

Click the change password
button , it will redirect you to
the reset password page.
 Forget password

If in case the user forget his
/her Password , he/she can
reset his password

Visit Manit website , and click
the link.

The link will redirect you to
the page where you will find a
forget password link .

Then provide your Login ID
and Email ID ,

You will get a mail on your
account click the link on mail
and reassign your password.
