appear.

Connect the USB flash drive to your computer by

plugging it into a free USB port. If possible, avoid
using USB hubs and use a port on the back of the
computer. Windows detects the flash drive in a few
seconds and, if necessary, installs the appropriate
drivers for it. The OS assigns a drive letter to the
device in File Explorer.

Right-click the drive assigned by Windows to the

device and select Format from the context menu to
display the Format dialog.

Select NTFS from the File System box if you want to

store files larger than 4GB on the drive. The NTFS
file system can handle smaller files as well.

Check the Quick Format box to format the drive

without checking it for errors. Deselecting this box
increases the time it takes Windows to format the
drive; the time increases significantly if you format
large drives.

Optionally, change the name of the flash drive from

the Volume Label field.

Click the Start button to start formatting the drive.

The process may take a few minutes, depending on
the size of the drive.

Open the folder that contains the movies you wish

to transfer to the flash drive, and then select the
files. To select everything in the folder, press Ctrl-A.
To select several items, hold Ctrl and click each file.

Right-click one of the selected files and choose

Copy from the context menu to copy the files to
the clipboard or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-C.
To erase the movies from the hard drive when you
transfer them to the drive, select Cut instead of
Copy, or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-X.

To create a new folder on the drive, select New and click Folder.

Select the flash drive from the left pane of the File
Explorer, right-click on an empty spot in the right
pane and select Paste from the context menu to
transfer the movies from the clipboard to the drive.
Alternatively, select the drive and press Ctrl-V.

To open the Control Panel, select Open Devices and Printers.

Before you disconnect the flash drive from the

computer, right-click its icon in the system tray, and
click Eject to safely eject it.

Only formats supported by WMP are displayed in the Open dialog.
