Analysis the Use of Affixation in Instagram Caption

Background:
In the era of globalization, the development of science and technology is increasing rapidly,
information dissemination and access to telecommunications and transportation are increasingly
fast and easy. The internet is one of the results of science and technology. Internet functions are
diverse, and one of them is the place of the virtual world social networking community. The ease
of sharing news on social networks makes people compete with each other to make the most
interesting social media ask people. Social networking is a service of an internet software system
coverage that allows users to interact and share data with other users on a large scale. Social
networking sites on the internet are of various types and forms, but the most well-known and
widely followed by teenagers today are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Path, Tumblr, and other
social networking sites. With this networking site, we can expand friendships in kinship as well
as with the wider community, not only in the scope of the living environment but from various
circles of environment and social status. The most popular social media is Instagram, Instagram
media that can share photos and videos easily, for people to glance at one of these social media,
plus text features to explain photos or videos uploaded. Humans compete to make the caption as
good as possible to attract their follower. In this case, the author tries to analyze affixation in an
Instagram account that is @_septiyandr. In the latest post @_septiyadr or the original name is
Septiani, she added the caption in Indonesian as follows “Terimakasih unutk luka darimu,
darinya aku dapat membantu orang lain sembuh. Meski pada akhirnya kita saling melupakan,
sesungguhnya aku ingin saling menerima. Meski yang kau dapat dariku, hanya kesalahan,
namun yang kudapat darimu adalah kebenaran akan sebuah ketentuan. Teruntuk kala, sekali
lagi beribu terimakasih kuhaturkan. Berkatmu, Saddha lahir dan mengajariku banyak hal
perihal luka, lupa, dan bahagia”. The author tries to analyze the chest affix words in the caption.
Affix or affixation is a bound morph that attaches to the root or form to a new word, or a variant
form of the same word. In English, we primarily see two types. Prefixes precede the root or stem,
e.g., re-cover, while suffixes follow, e.g. hopeful. The third type of affix known as a circumfix
occurs in the two words en-light-en and em-bold, where the prefix en / m - and the suffix -en / m,
are attached simultaneously to the root. In Indonesian language affixation knows as Imbuhan.
The Example of Indonesian Affixation is like Me-Nangis, Tindak-Kan or Pe-Jalan. In the caption
there are several words that use affixation like “ membantu”, “”akhirnya”, “melupakan” and
others. The language used by Septiani is formal Indonesian, also seen in her caption, she tells
something about a story piece. In that caption, the author tries to analyze the additions, what is
added to these words and analyzes what changes in meaning after adding the additions.
