The Power of Name

A name is a term used for identification. Names can identify a class or category of things,
or a single thing, either uniquely, or within a given context. The entity identified by a name is
called its referent. A personal name identifies, not necessarily uniquely, a specific individual
human. Well everyone of course have a name. Not only human, some animals have name also.
Name can certain pray, description of that person, and how or when that person born. In this
essay, I will explain about the meaning of name, find phenomena about unique names, name to
get fame and a pray, and how I give name to my future child.

Every name is has meaning and history behind. Such as my name “Ruri” tri wahyuni.
Ruri is my mother’s favorite name, “tri” because I am the third children in my family, and
“wahyuni” is because I was born in Ramadhan. My parents give me name Ruri Tri Wahyuni and
they hope I could grow up be a good girl, healthy, beautiful, and smart girl. Because good name
can make us be good person also. Many parent ask suggestions to others about their children’s
name. Name is so important for their children. They have to think twice before giving name.

If we see in another country, we can find many unique name like in America. There is a
beautiful baby girl named Aurora. Otherwise known as the aurora borealis or northern light. The
parent of course hope their daughter can be beautiful girl as aurora borealis which make people
spellbound who watch it. And do you know Kyle Jenner daughter’s name. Her name is Stormi. It
is a unique name, as we know storm is a violent weather, which has heavy rain and wind. It is
include bad name because has bad meaning. But her parent of course have strong reason why
give their daughter that name.

Name can also give as a fame. Many actors and addresses make their fame name. They
think their real name is not a cool name or attractive name. So, they choose to change their name.
Sometimes public do not know their real name. Like a famous singer in Indonesia. Her real name
is Ayu Rosmalina but public more know her name as Ayu Ting Ting. It is because Ayu can be
famous singer by her single song “Masih Ting-Ting”. So, Ayu choose to change her name be Ayu
Ting-Ting. Not only Ayu TingTing, there is actress who change her name also. She is Titi Kamal,
who know if her real name is Kurniati Kamalia. So really different. Actually I do not really
understand. Why people change their name. That is include to identify forgery. And they should
be grateful with their name. Because their parent give it. But back to the person, everyone always
has reason why they change their name. It is maybe their name is too difficult to spell so they
change to the name which easy to spell and easy to remember. We never know.

Name is not only for our identity. Name also can contain a pray. And from the name we
know what the parent hope for their children. Choosing a baby name proves to be a challenging
task for many parents. And they're wise to work hard at it. A name can have a profound impact
on a child that reverberates well into adulthood, a growing body of research suggests. "There is a
reason why baby name books are extremely popular," said David Figlio of Northwestern
University in Illinois. "We're always trying to think about the first bit of a child's identity and so
if we as a society pay a lot of attention to names it makes a lot of sense that people's names might
influence how they think about themselves and the way in which people might think about
them."Plenty of research suggests the name chosen impacts a baby's life well into adulthood. For
instance, donning your newborn boy with a girly sounding name could mean behavioral
problems later in life. And unique baby names that only your child will have can be a hardship
too. For example, the parent want their daughter be a clever and pretty girl like pearl. So they
give name her Aisyah Aqila Lukluk. In Arabic language, it means smart and beautiful girl like
pearl and have good character. So make sure the parent give good name for their children. Name
can affect many things such as success in career or their popularity in the future. If the parent
give bad name or bad meaning to their children, it may change their child’s life and character.
For example, there is give their children name Amarah. In Indonesian, Amarah is mean anger.
Well, that child will has bad temperamental and grumpy. That is why, we should have good name
with good meaning.

In the future, if I have a baby girl, I will give hers name Naufalyn Alesha Rabbani. It
means clever and generous girl who always praise to Allah SWT. If I have a baby boy, I will give
him a name Alvaro Kenzo Atharazka. It means wise, smart and always be lucky boy. These
names have good meaning. I hope my future children will have a goog attitude, good looking,
clever, wise, good in religion, and success in the future.

So every name has power. For people who have it. A good name can make that people be
more confident. And name have big affect for everyone. Make sure you give your baby a good
name with a good meaning. Because a name can contain a pray, wishes, and fame.
Well, never change or shy with name which be given by your parent. You should be grateful and
love your name. Show to the world if you can be successful with your own name. Make your
name famous in the world because of your achievement. And your parent will be proud of you.
