ASSIGNMENT: Explain or rephrase Ethical Temptations and Violations
1. Stealing from Employers and Customers
An ethical violation that is common to all agencies and companies, be it on a large
scale or small ones. As school leader, we have the AURA (authority, responsibility and
accountability) of the MOOE (Maintenance and Other Operational Expenses) allotted
to the school monthly. We should not steal anything that is allotted for our clientele
and spend for personal benefit because it is unethical taking anything which is not
intended for us.
2. Illegally copying software
We have to acknowledge the author if ever we will be using their work for our benefit.
It is unethical to copy their original work and act as if they are our own.
3. Treating people unfairly
As leader, we have to give our subordinates equal chance or opportunity to grow.
Similarly, in accepting our students there should be an equal treatment no matter where
they came from.
4. Sexual harassment
This act will surely destroy the future of our children. As an adult, we should protect
our children and ensure that they will have a positive outlook in life.
5. Conflict of interest
This occurs when the leader makes decisions that is always favorable in her part. For
example, a principal has a catering business and in times of needing a catering service
in school the principal bring or hire her own catering service, there will be a conflict of
interest.
6. Accepting kickbacks or bribes for doing business in another company
Accepting gifts from others who have business with you. Example, repair of
classrooms – there are contractors who offers gift to the principal then if you accept it
you will now be accepting the repairs done even if there are unmet specifications in the
materials used.
7. Divulging confidential information
Private and confidential information should not be disclosed to anybody especially if
you are aware that it would ruin the reputation of that person. This ethical violation
adheres to the Data Privacy Act which protects the integrity of every person.
8. Misuse of Corporate Resources
Do not re-aligned funds or spend it in another purpose. If its intended for the
development of the company then so be it do not use it in your own benefit.
9. Corporate Espionage
Do not steal information for your own good. Do not hire or request somebody to be an
spy just to get an information for you but rather it would be ethical if you will ask
consent to make use of whatever useful information.
10. Poor cyber ethics
This pertains to the unethical use of media. Posting words or statements that will ruin
the personality and reputation of an individual. As a matured individual, we should be
aware of the “think before you click” policy because we are responsible for every
actions we do.

ASSIGNMENT: Case Study: The Hands – on CEO of JETBLUE

Q. In what way did Neeleman demonstrates an understanding of the behavioral approach to
management?
A. Psychological make-up of people is considered thus conflict is minimized as seen in the
following situation:
a. Hire right people in the right job. This will make employee realized that they are
important component of the company. Everybody has its own contribution for the good of the
company thus each employee will strive to attain its maximum growth as far as job is concerned.
b. Keeping employee happy and contented. When employees are happy and contented, they
will stay in their job and will be participative whenever needed. They will be loyal to their job an
will exhibit sense of ownership in whatever task the company will require them. It was evident in
the company that even those who are in the higher position participated in the simple clean up
drive.

Q. Even though this text has mentioned leadership only brief so far, in what way was Neeleman a
hand-on leader (one who gets directly involved in the details of an operation)?
A. Neeleman as like any other leader is a hand-on when he is directly involved in all the operation
and does not rely everything to his workers and colleagues especially when it comes to addressing
the needs of the costumers without sacrificing the financial stability of the company.
a. Provision of amenities which will give comfort and satisfaction to the aircraft passengers.
b. Provision of safety measures in a plane so that it can fly over water or oceans during
congested routes.
c. Take responsibility in all actions in overseeing the operations of the airplane.

Q. How else might Neeleman and his successor make use of management knowledge to improve
the chances of Jetblue Airlines staying successful?
A. To stay successful, neeleman and his successor has to implement the ”no single size fits all”
therefore it will also be advantageous that management should be flexible. Customer’s satisfaction
should be number 1 among its top priority and from time to time should check and implement
changes that would bring goodness and success to the company.

Q. Why should passengers being trapped for hours in an idled plane be considered a management
problem?
A. It’s a management problem because that delay will cause several problems not only to the
company but to the valued customers. There are passengers who are also of their time management
and a delay would be disastrous. Bad experience may make them ride no more in your aircraft thus
may result to bankruptcy if the matter will not be addressed successfully. They will not patronize
the aircraft anymore. The company in the long run will have a negative image to the public.

ASSIGNMENT: SWOT ANALYSIS

San Miguel National High School in its effort to lessen the Students At-Risk of Dropping
Out (SARDO”s) would like to offer Open High School Program (OHSP).

STRENGTH: Offering this program will help those students at risk of dropping out and those
students who cannot attend to the regular class because of unavoidable circumstances such as early
marriage, work, illness and other equally important reasons. Through this, the skills and
competencies which are not met or acquired in the regular class will be learned and met thus the
students will be able to cope up with the missed lessons and be able to graduate in the curriculum.

WEAKNESS: Since OHSP is an additional program this will be held every Saturday to cater those
students who are working during weekdays thus will be requiring available teachers to handle the
classes. Another problem would be the source of honorarium to be given to teachers who will
handle the additional classes. Lastly, there should be instructional materials to be provided to the
students thus the principal has to resource for this purpose.

OPPORTUNITY: The opportunity to attract more students to enroll in this program is high since
it will be once a week only. The students who are helping the parents earn a living will benefit
from this program so much. Those teachers who are looking for an additional income can also
benefit from offering this.

THREATS: As to the effectiveness of the program and the realizations of its objectives still
remains a question as of this moment but we are hopeful that offering this program would surely
minimize drop out in the school. There are still other consideration as to the opening of this
program but with proper dissemination I am positive that all these will be overcome.
