Operating System Linux, Windows.
Team Size 3
Duration Feb 2017 to Present
Description:
4G small cell is a small box implementation of traditional LTE eNodeB which provides .An alternative solution to
the traditional LTE eNodeb offering with same capabilities i.e. 2x2 MIMO, UL-20Mbps & DL-70Mbps support. It
supports less number of users than traditional eNodeB and could be used for home or enterprise purpose. The
small cell can dramatically simplify and reduce the cost of operating IP-based mobile networks, cut the cost of
upgrading 4G cells

Current Project: Samsung s8400_SLR650eNB_MAClayer testing
Client Samsung
Organization Samsung Head Quarters, south Korea
Duration June 2016 - Dec 2016
Project Description:
Samsung supports End-to-end LTE solution including network infrastructure such as evolved Node B (eNB) and
Evolved Packet Core (EPC) Samsung LTE supports diverse types of eNB platform such as Macro, Micro, Hot Zone,
Femtocell and indoor/outdoor types. This extensive product line-up helps operators to choose an appropriate
product depending on the network environment, which leads the operator to be able to save CapEx. This project
involved the maintenance and testing of the MAC TDD and FDD layer of the Samsung eNodeB to support 5, 10, 15
and 20 MHZ bands of operation and support up to 600 active Users. The Layer2 involving MAC and RLC is hosted
on octeon S8400 DSP processor, interfacing with the Layer 1 through SRIO interface and the higher layer with
EMAC interface. The MAC layer has to meet 1 millisecond timeframe of operation at all times failing which would
result in System Failure.
Contribution:
• Verification of Through put testing with 2CCCA, 3CCCA combinations, Daily sanity and regression testing
•Support for both FDD and TDD and Support for different bandwidths.
•Optimization in terms of both cycles and memory to support 128 active UEs per sector
•Verification of overall LTE call flow and performance measurement in terms of RTT, peak /less
•Bring up the complete enodeb setup, MIB and SIB testing, Initial RACH setup
• Support for Interoperability Testing (IOT) with UE/TM500 and cycle / memory optimization of the system.
•Mac layer issues reproduction and analysis
3. Qualcomm Lte Multi mode modem testing:
Project: Qualcomm Multi mode modem call manager functional testing
Client Qualcomm
Organization Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd
Duration Nov 2011 - Dec 2015
Project Description:
MMODE application has extensive interactions with MPSS clients (e.g. NAS, QMI, 1XCP, etc) through its own
APIs. Call manager (CM) provides an API for client applications to access services provided by MODEM
software. The CM APIs will remain relatively stable, even if the underlying software changes; it effectively
decouples the client software from the underlying software. Client applications can be ported with relative
ease to future QUALCOMM MSM™ and MDM family products.CM provides interfaces for client applications
to:1.Set up and take down a call 2.Change phone settings 3.Register/De register supplementary services
4.Notify client applications regarding 5.Call and phone state/status change information Messages received
from the base station .
Contribution:
1. Working in MMCP (Multi Mode Core Protocol) team for log analysis and testing of MMODE (Multi Mode)
call manager.
2. Work involved doing of MMODE issues Handling and debugging of customer issues, reproduction of failed
scenarios on customer handsets to resolve customer-blocking issues and support for product
commercialization
3. Development of writing the new test cases on call manager [CM, MMOC and SD] and execution of test
cases
4. Generating engineering builds and updates the log analysis and crash reports and test frame work
development.
6. Loading builds on MTP (Modem Test Platform) and configures them as per Operator specific Configuration
and executing Conformance & CAT Test Plans in lab.
7. in failing test scenarios: collect modem logs. Analyze L1 and L2/L3 behaviour in modem logs. Create bug
reports and report the final results.
8 Performed , Verification and Validation, GCF and PTCRB certification testing of various models and
versions of UEs from vendors like Samsung, Sony, HTC, Blackberry and Nokia for Deutsche Telekom Operator.
9 Done log analysis, reporting and tracking defects, providing analysis and supporting vendor’s
development team for solving the defects within SLAs.

Duration Aug 2010 – Oct 2011

Description Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) is a main component of GPRS/UMTS network, which handles all
packet switched data within the network, e.g. Mobility Management and Session Management. SGSN performs
same functions as the MSC for voice traffic. As part of SGSN testing, I worked in Network Verification team. In
Network Verification testing, the product as a part of whole network or system is tested.

Network Verification covers below testing areas:

 New functionality (E2E) testing for new releases and feature CD’s.
 Compatibility testing with different network elements according to Compatibility Plan and NW
dependencies.
 Regression testing for maintenance deliveries.
 CD installation and SW upgrade testing.
 Site solution/connectivity verification (L2, L3).
 Change Note verifications, Customer demos, pilot support etc.
Contribution:
 Hands-on testing Experience with real network elements (i.e. UE, BSC/RNC, SGSN, HLR, S4-SGSN, MME, S-
GW, P-GW/GGSN) with full network in place.
 I have been doing End to End, compatibility testing, regression testing, sanity testing, CD installations,
software upgrades and many Release upgrades for the SG7CD7, SG7CD8, SG8CD2, SG8CD3 releases.
 Understanding the requirements and preparing Test Plan for new features, Execution of new features
based on 3GPP specifications and reporting test results into Test Management System (i.e. QC).
 Understand and analyze call flows, debug problems by analyzing traces/logs.
 Compatibility testing (i.e. IRAT RAU/HO, Relocation and RAU) when the subscriber moved from 4G (i.e.
LTE) to 3G/2G (i.e. UMTS) network or Vice versa.
 Good call processing knowledge as per 3GPP specifications for GSM/GPRS/UMTS technologies.
 Verification of customer document procedures and Change Notes, which are delivered to end customer.
 Working on tools including WIRESHARK, NETHAWK and TCPDUMP.

Project 2 Project Name: Packet Abis (IP over Abis ) interface development (BSC <-> BTS)
Client Nokia Siemens Networks ( www.nokiasiemensnetworks.com )
Role Development, unit and integration testing
Organization NSN Offshore Development Center (Kochi )
Duration Jan 2009 – july 2010
Environment Software Languages : C, TNSDL and DX200

Project Description:-
Packet Abis makes possible to use a packet switched based transmission of signalling and traffic (payload) between
BTS and BSC. This allows cellular network operators to migrate from traditional static TDM to PSTN, and the low-
cost transport of IP and Ethernet, in a more efficient and cost effective way than with the already available
solutions. Packet based transport is used independent from the layer 1 technology being e.g. Ethernet and TDM
Contribution:

 Development of new Abis O&M messages and IUA/SCTP layer according to NSN standards
 Understanding the client requirements and Development of Abis O&M interface specification (Nokia
preparatory).
 Single point of contact for this simulator from entire development and Integration testing and FT testing.
 Contributed support for BSS functional testing team to develop the large Radio Network (3200 BTS )
 Worked for a new feature flexi multi radio BTS support from BSC end
 Supported Black box and White box unit testing
 Did Integration and Bug fixing on BSC.
