Horizontal Directional Drilling Rig
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Rig offer a Trenchless Solutions of steered horizontal directional drilling for
underground pipelines installations, sizes range from Ø60mm to Ø500mm distances up to 1,000m.
The HDD Rig is a guided trenchless machine in which a pilot borehole is drilled along a pre-determined bore path,
subsequent hole enlargement follows the path set by the pilot bore, from the surface with minimum disturbance. Short,
medium and long length of pipe can be pulled and installed to steer clear of obstacles and existing services.

Rig Features
Horizontal Directional Drilling Rig adopts the high intensity rubber track chassis and completed with integrated type
power station which features high integration and easy moving.
The Rig is powered by Cummins diesel engine with abundant power supply and steady performance. The power head
is driven by two hydraulic motors for steady rotary and large torque, and the automatic unscrew floating mechanism
ensures minimax wear for drilling pipe thread. For a convenient operation of changing drilling angle, the rig is equipped
with angle-adjusting cylinder.
The feeding and pulling mechanism share same motor-chain power driving system which provide a same large pull and
push force and easy angle control in long distance. The two hydraulic clamps can work together and make up or break out
drilling pipes efficiently.
The rig is fully powered by hydraulic system and centrally controlled on Control Panel.

Soil Stabilization
I. Introduction
The use of soil stabilizer to improve areas of weak soil into a construction material is an established and extremely cost-
effective construction method. Virtually any soil found on site can be improved for bulk fill applications and to build roads,
pavements, embankments, reinforced earth structures, railways, housings and industrial units.
By stabilization natural soil in situ, construction can be carried out cost-effectively and quickly. Many years of experience
has confirmed this technique as a favorite option for treating weak soils at oilfield wellsite, infrastructure foundation
reinforcement and road project.
II. Features and Benefits

1. Cost
In situ treatment is typically much more cost-effective than traditional ‘dig and dump’ methods, which incur the cost
of vehicle movements or taxes. Treated soils features with superior strength than conventional gravel and concrete
materials, leading to reduced thickness designs for foundations and/or subsequent pavement layers.
2. Time
Soil stabilization can shorten construction periods by minimizing site preparation requirements, tipping and import
activities. The process also enables wet ground to be dried and strengthened, ready for immediate use.
3. Environmental impact
Conventional ground improvement techniques involve the excavation and removal of inappropriate materials, followed
by the importation of large quantities of virgin aggregates. Soil stabilization uses in situ soils already available on site, and
mix small quantities of soil stabilizer in situ. The result is lower cost, less environmental impact and less neighbor conflict.
4. Weather/Water Resistant
Stabilized soil is radically more resilient to weather and water damage than conventional construction materials.
Once cured, the treated area becomes impervious to water and will not break apart or wash-off in heavy rain or flood
conditions. Nor will it absorb water, effectively protecting against damage from shrink-swell and freeze-thaw caused by
moisture infiltration.

VI. Typical Application Project

1. Road Foundation Soil Stabilization Project
The solidified soil subgrade project is for a 15m wide, 85cm thickness Road, which is designed as requirements of
municipal design institute, the deflection value should be 240 or less.

SOIL STABILIZATION
If we use traditional construction method, the road would be filled with 1.1 m thickness crushed gravel, and the ground
need to be compacted three times during construction. At the same time, the appropriate moisture content of soil should
be controlled before backfill.
After the soil stabilizer is introduced into this project, the solidified soil thickness has been reduced by 25 cm considering
the solidified road’s outstanding performance in good smoothness and high bearing capacity.
Moreover, The stabilized soil technology benefits the project with lower workload and cost, good road smoothness (The
total settlement has been decreased by 10% to 15%).
2. Oilfield Drilling Wellsite Project
The drilling wellsite is located at remote and complex terrain hillside and there will be a huge amount of work load for
traditional gravel filling solution to transport a lot of gravel. Especially, the raining season bring much troubles to the
construction.
In order to overcome the above difficulties, the soil stabilizer technology has been implemented in this project. As
an advancedin situ construction method, it doesn’t need gravel transportation which greatly saved money. Also, the
construction lead-time has been greatly reduced to 1/3 of traditional method. As highlight advantages, the wellsite
ground features with high bearing capacity, water stability and smoothness.
