BRIEF HISTORY OF PWA

In 2002, the Philippine Women’s University-CDCEC was organized and operated at

Capistrano St., Cagayan de Oro City with the initial offering of the Caregiving Program. During
its second year of operation, other courses were offered, such as Nursing Assistant, Two-Year
Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Tourism Management.

By December 2008, the school’s location was transferred to Mabulay Subdivision, where
its operations are now done. Today, the school is named Professional World Academy-Misamis.
This results after the organizers decided to be independent from the Philippine Women’s
University.

PWA offers courses/programs that answer the needs of the market and provides quality
education to students for them to become globally employable.
