Alternative Solution 2

Starting a Private Jet service to generate revenue

The plan is to cater to the needs of private organizations and corporations by collaborating with
them. It is likely that corporations would be interested in such a deal because of two reasons,
first-rate customer services and the optimal capacity of Ryanair aircrafts suitable for business
purposes.
Pros Cons
Generation of revenue for further expansion Drop or no change in popularity and trust
plans among the general customers
Establishment of Ryanair as a premium Restrictions imposed by corporations
airline brand
Increasing ticket prices while offering Expansion plans will be put on hold.
premium services

Criteria for evaluation:

1. Time for implementation- It depends on the Ryanair managers’ ability to associate with
business corporations by analysing their needs and demands while ensuring that the
deal is advantageous for both parties and generates sufficient revenues.
2. Tangible costs- This depends on the demands of the corporation to which the services
are being offered to. Ryanair would need to increase or decrease the number of aircrafts
depending on the demands of the company.
3. Acceptability of management- Ryanair would need to set a reasonable price which
promises acceptable to the corporation they are pertaining their services to while
ensuring that profit margins are acceptable to the management and shareholders.
4. Customer base- Identification of the customer base is an important part of this
operation. Identification of companies and their needs would help expand business
opportunities.
Alternative Solution 3
Expansion along the smaller routes
Introduction of small capacity airline along the smaller routes in Europe at cheaper prices as
compared to the other airline services would prove to be a substantial source of revenue in case
Ryanair decided to expand internationally in the future. Identification of these routes will be
the most prioritised part of this implementation.
Pros Cons
Generation of revenue for further expansion No guarantee of profit
plans
Increase in customer trust Stiff competition from other established
airline services
Establishment of Ryanair as the face of Government regulations might impede the
public transportation in the air industry plans
Criteria for evaluation:
1. Time for implementation- Being a time intensive process, time management is of
paramount importance for the time implementation. Any lapses might lead to losses in
Ryanair forcing them to back out.
2. Tangible costs- Starting new services would require them to procure new airplanes as
well as employees to handle the operations of the same. This would require a lot of
capital investment.
3. Acceptability of management- Convincing the management board will be the most
important task. Considering that a lot of capital is needed for this process, proper plans
and estimates about possible future challenges need to be prepared and presented to the
shareholders.
4. Customer base- Appealing to the needs of the general customer while considering
budget and income restrictions is an important pre-processing task. Making the people
realise that Ryanair is a brand that they can trust in and that it is a cheap alternative to
the other existing modes of transportation will be a major challenge.
