Nowadays family concept needs to be a relevant topic within the society and family
living arrangements is an important component. What type of living arrangement is
better? It is a difficult question and depends on the particular situation of each family
members. That is why some people prefer to live with extended families while others
prefer to live with nuclear ones. In my opinion it is better to live with an extended
family, because you can have support of the family members and also experience
sharing.

First of all, support of the family members becomes very helpful for parents who have
to work all day. In an extended family, relatives can help with the childrens in many
ways, for example driving them to school, helping them with the homework or taking
care of the children when the parents are not at home. In addition, there are another way
of support; company in hard situations, which means that in an extended family you can
receive help when you have any problem with money or when someone is sick. For
instance, if you have the possibility to live with a grandmother, children would be
always happy, grandmothers are like second mothers but they allow children to be more
free than with the mother.

Second, experience sharing is a very relevant component. When you live with a relative
there is the possibility to receive life experience and maybe other point of view in some
situations which is going to help the family environment. Not only it can help with
problems in general but also, in some cases it is going to help the children with
homerworks, because the ralative can have some experience or background that could
be positive. Moreover, in a extended family there are values to be shared, which could
help the parents and also the kids. As an illustration, in my personal experience my
grandmother lives with us and I always remember the values she taught to my brother
and I.

All in all, the type of living arrangement will always be a family decision depending
on the particular family situation. From my point of view, living with a relative is going
to be helpful for the parents and the kids. The support of the family members and the
possibility of share experiences are important reasons for me to prefer to live with
extended families rather than with nuclear one.

To sum up, my hometown, Valdivia is an amazing city and it needs to improve the
services for the tourists, like hotels and restaurants.
